BowlingBall.com & Google Checkout
« on: November 30, 2006, 05:31:54 AM »
I tried yesterday and today to buy Gift Certificates on bowlingball.com using Google checkout with no success.  An email from Google said that bowlingball.com is not allowing gift certificate purchases through Google checkout.  Has anyone else had this happen today or yesterday?

The party's over!  I just tried to do what im4x4nut said and they are not allowing you to buy gift certificates though Google checkout anymore.  All good things must come to an end. I guess Google was loosing too much money on that bonehead move.

UPDATE:
Google had nothing to do with this:
1: Here is an email I received from Google:
Hello Rich,

Thank you for your email. I understand you have a question on using Google
Checkout to buy gift certificates from bowlingball.com. Currently,
bowlingball.com doesn't allow the purchase of gift certificates through
Checkout. We're sorry for any inconvenience that this time.

Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any additional
questions.

Sincerely,

Michel
The Google Checkout Team

2: I called bowlingball.com and left a message with their service dept.  They replied within an hour stating that they are no longer allowing Google checkout to be used for purchasing gift certificates.
I guess Keith Spear CEO bowlingball.com decided that he was selling to many bowling balls to the consumer at a discount rate.

I didn't like the way it was done.  He could have come on here and said what was going on and what he was going to do.  Also he was plugging right up till the end.
Also why not put a posting on his site saying that the google discount was discontinued for that purpose.  Not let you go through all the B.S. to find that it wasn't working.
