Bowlingball.com. Not for me
« on: December 30, 2008, 12:28:10 AM »
I ordered a 3-4-5 option bag and a 100 piece roll of 1in black Brunswick tape from them.

My problem is with the tape. I have used Brunswick tape since I have started bowling. It has always been nice and thick, and actually adjusts the tightness of your thumb hole. Well the stuff I got is very thin, as thin as Valentino's  franken tape. Nothing I have ever seen from Brunswick before, It would take probably 3-4 pieces of it to equal your standard Brunswick black tape that i and others ahve always bought.

I sent them an email stating that what i got was unsatisfactory to what I have seen when buying it anywhere or any other time before. I was asking what i should do or if they could send me something to replace it. All I got was a email saying that I should return it, pay for the shipping and insurance and pay a restocking fee. Oh and they said it should have been what the normal brunswick tape is suppose to be like.

I will no longer do businesas with them again. If this would have been buddiesproshop all I would have done is call them and everything would have been squared away quick and accordingly, they would have probably told to keep the tape and they will check the product they have in stock and send me something similar or the same product that is of quality.

I am pretty disappointed because, I am not going to pay about the same I paid to buy it to send it back. Customer service is not what I thought they would have.

Interesting! Why not ask in the BRUNSWICK FORUM if they have changed the production? We might all learn something from this! You don't say for sure it was tape identified as BRUNSWICK .. was it?

That's strange, I bought some of the white 3/4 Brunswick tape in the 100 roll last week and am very happy with it. Its the same as what I had before.. Mine actually says Brunswick on the backside of each piece..  My roll was like $10 shipped so I was very happy..

Did the bag show up and are you satisfied with it? I have bought from bowlingball.com 20 or 25 times over the past year and always been satisfied..

I've never had problems either.  Everything I bought was as advertised.  Shipping was timely & w/tracking #s.

I'd buy from them in a heart beat if I saw something that I wanted at the right price.

Well when looking at it it is somewhat different. The back of mine says Brunswick Kr Strikeforce that are in big letters repeating itself down the roll. Every brunswick piece I have seen before just had a bunch of small brunswick's all over the back of every piece of tape.

I got screwed.

Just think...
If you went into your local pro shop and actually could have touched the tape before purchase you would of saved the hassle.

I just think these kinds of things should be expected when buying online. Products do change. I bought 5 cases of Brunswick Bowler's Tape. Black and White and the White tape was different from case to case.

I agree, and I normally buy my tape from the pro shop. It was me and my girlfriend ordering it for christmas, and before checking out, i noticed a pretty good deal so I just went ahead and picked some up. Waste of my $10
