So, I decided to try the Ultimate thumb process from Buddies.  I sent them my ball, a Cell that has been absolute $$ for me, and in about a week I get my ball back with my new thumb slugs.  

Now, here was my issue.  The  ball I sent them was in great shape.  The ball I got back appeared to be bounced off the conrete several times.  It's basically destroyed.  My guess is that UPS dropped it a few times, but who knows.  So, I call them up, explain what happened and email them some pics of the ball.  Literally within 5 minutes of sending the pictures I get a call back.  They offered to re-surface the ball for me or send me a new one.

All I'll say that as far as on-line proshops you can not beat Buddies!  Their service is un-surpassed.  Oh, and as far as the thumb slugs - PERFECT fit!

Yes, my shipment to them was double boxed and bagged.  And as always, their shipment to me was double boxed and bagged.   My guess is that UPS decided to play basketball with the box....

Dang, that is crazy.. Buddies is awesome! It was real cool actually being at their proshop in Connecticut, too.

I had a similar issue earlier this year.  I sent Buddies my Black Widow Solid which they used as a template for the Ulitmate Thumb.  I get the ball back and it the cover was cracked in a semi-circle near the thumb.  I do NOT blame buddies but rather UPS.  

My local driver is a prick, he's dropped bowling balls on my concrete porch on a few occasions.  My home office used to be on main level of the house with a window on the the front porch, one day I opened the door and complained.  Now my office is in the basement and I think he knows it...so he drops them from a higher distance.  I am VERY reluctant to mail order balls and have them shipped UPS b/c of this jagoff.

Chris, Bill, and the staff at Buddies are nothing short of amazing.  I only wish I was closer...I would drive to CT and visit them in person.  I almost used some airline miles to pay them a visit but instead went to the Bahamas with the wife.
