I have purchased from Buddies several times - great experiences - but the last two times I have purchased balls from them I have not gotten anywhere close to what I requested. First time - Requested 3-4" pin, got 1-2" pin (actually 1 3/4). I called them - they were going to replace it, but I decided to keep ball and ordered another - the second ball was OK . Just got another ball in today - Requested 3-4" pin, got 1-2" AGAIN. Two different balls both times (Classic Zone, Rule GP2). I have kept both - I don't want the hassle of waiting, shipping, etc. I do wish they would have called if they didn't have anything CLOSE to what I requested.....
P.S. - Chris @ Buddies has sent me several PM's - they have addressed everything!

Rowdy:
It is no trouble to fix a ball that you are not happy with. We want to make all customers happy. Since we do not ship every bowling ball, we have to expect that the warehouse guys will pull the correct ball for your order. If you do not get what you are looking for, please call us as soon as you get the ball, and we will do everything we can to fix the problem.

I can tell everyone that we are in the process of looking into these errors (Rowdy and DC - previous post). I am not happy when there are errors. We will get this straightened out.
-
Chris- I'm sure they understand that these errors were not intentional. but from the buyers point of view, it's like being a kid on x-mas when that new ball arrives at your door. Even if they are not the specs you request, it's hard to let that new ball sit and wait for the replacement. so you drill and bear it

Just my thoughts.... But glad to see you on the boards reviewing the feedback.

I just made my first order from buddies. I hope nothing gets messed up there. I'm in college right now, living 5 hrs from home. I plan to get my balls drilled when I go back for spring break. if something is wrong I wont have the time to wait around for the correct ball to arrive. really want that hot rod hybrid too..........

I'm a happy buddies oversea customer. I purchased 4 bowling balls and an Ebonite ball rack, all with perfect specs. I have also introduced an u.k. friend to do business with Buddies. I'm sure the last few posts are all isolate incidents.
Good luck rowdy! And LeftyHomer10, I'm sure everything will be fine!!!
Good bowling!

All,
Have no fear!! I know Chris from Buddies Pro Shop personally and have actually bowled in a couple of leagues with him in northern NJ. He is a personable, no-nonsense, first class guy and he WILL get things straightened out. You can take that to the bank.
The last thing he wants is to have an unsatisfied customer.

Both of my orders came exactly as advertised, and that was on stuff that was discontinued and practically being given away. I asked what specs were available and they sent exactly the ones I asked for.

I wanted to let everyone know that Chris at Buddies has shipped me another ball with the specs that I ordered along with a return label for the original ball.
My intent of the original post was for Buddies to be aware of problems with their picking/shipping accuracy lately. Never be concerned that this company will not respond to your issue and they will ALWAYS make an attempt to correct whatever legitimate problem that you have.

Bill or Chris, I'm just curious. You mention that you expect the warehouse guys to pull the right order......My question is ....Is this your warehouse or the Ball Manufacturers Warehouse, or a Distributer Warehouse or what Warehouse etc.? I was fussing with a Storm Rep the other day about prices and how Buddies sell cheaper than anyone else with speedy and excellent service and that I assumed that Buddies must take the order and have the Mfgr. ship directly to customer, thus saving on freight. The Storm Rep. told me the Ball Manufacturers such as Storm, Brunswick, Ebonite, etc. won't ship from their warehouse directly to customer, so I am curious what warehouse you refer to?

I will just say that no manufacturer will drop ship items directly to customers.
I am also glad to say that both errors (DC and Rowdy) have been corrected. As my staff can tell you, I stressed much of Friday until these were fixed. If ever anyone has a problem with any order we process please contact us immediately. We strive for 100% satisfaction even though we realize it may be an impossible dream.

My experience has been excellent with Buddies. Lightning fast service and always the best prices. I work in a Customer Service industry as well, and my experience is that customers who have complaints will often become your most loyal ones if you handle their concerns professionally, courteously, and quickly. It speaks volumes that you stressed over a single unhappy customer, Chris. My guess is rowdy won't forget your professionalism. I have recommended you to friends and would do so for anyone who wants to be valued as a customer.
-
rowdy,
I think you should edit the title to this thread to reflect that the problem was fixed. (Maybe just add "... now fixed" or " ... now corrected")
Congrats to Bill and Chris. Few people work this hard and this effectively in today's world.
