BuddiesProShop Experience

Ordered a Super Charge through them on Wednesday and requested the following:

15 pounds
2-3 oz of top weight
3 to 4 inch pin

Here is what came today:

15 pounds 6 ounces
3.5 oz of top weight
2.5 to 3 inch pin

Also, the ball had 4 small dots on it (about the size of the CG indicator on a Brunswick ball) where there was no coverstock.

I'm fairly new at all of this, so I am asking about this before I come to any conclusions.  Is this fairly normal?  It's not like the ball was way off, but I figured they had the inventory to deliver a little closer to what was ordered.  I know that Bowlers Bargains considers anything over an extra 5 ounces to be a medium weight ball.

Just looking for insight because I had heard nothing but great things about them before I ordered.  Wanted to know if what they delivered would be deemed "acceptable" by the masses.

Thanks.

Have you tried to contact them at their toll free number yet, to tell them your concerns and ask them why they sent a ball like that?  1-866-717-7772

It depends. What you ordered had a minumum Pin size of 3". (3 to 4) What you received was a 2.5" to 3" Pin. Now if the Pin on the one you received is 3" then you got what you ordered which was a 3" to 4" Pin as they vary from 3" to 4".

Now if the Pin in the ball you received is a 2.5" Pin, the it is a different size than what you ordered.

Does it matter? Yes it does to some people and not to others. Some people can throw a ball with any size Pin while others like myself cannot throw anything over 3" max. with my preference being 2 1/2". You will have to decide what you want to do. For example, if balls with 3 1/2" or 4" Pins work best for you and received a 2 1/2" Pin, it matters a lot.

I called them earlier and had my questions answered very quickly and thoroughly.  The slight variance between what I ordered and what I got isn't going to be a huge deal in the end.  They offered to send out call tags and replace it with no charge, but I'm going to hang on to it and punch it up this weekend.

I got a call back from the head honcho after my initial call just to double check that everything was ok.  I really appreciate the follow up and dedication to make sure that their customers are happy.

As I stated initially, the ball arrived VERY quickly, and I certainly can't argue with the price or the customer service they have provided on this purchase.  If I can ever convince my wife to let me buy another ball, I'll buy it from them.

Thanks for clearing things up guys.

what happened with the whole 4 dots with missing coverstock problem? was it just that the color was missing or what?

Apparently Storm is having that issue with a lot of their coverstocks.  It's bubbling, or something along those lines.  I checked out a couple of SC's at my driller's pro shop, and they had the same thing.  It won't change the reaction, so I am not too worried about it.
