General Online Bowling Ball Buying Question
« on: July 19, 2005, 12:26:08 PM »
I have been told different stories from several people but I was wondering if this is true or not. I was told that the reason online bowling shops can sell their balls so cheap compared to regular stores is because they get the defect balls from companies. The pro shop I go to told me that the online balls usually have their weights inside shifted or some other problem. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Also,  when you buy balls online, how do you get them drilled?, online or in a local pro shop?

Sounds like something your pro shop guy said just to get you to buy things from him.  But, if his prices are worth it and he's a good driller, you should get stuff from him anyways.  Many will say the extra cost you pay, goes towards person-to-person help, discussion and things like that.  But if you see a discontinued ball or something online that you really want, don't feel bad about getting it.  Oh yeah, and if you buy a ball online, get it drilled at your local shop, since it's not like online stores can measure your hand, pitches, discuss with you about the ball, etc.
