Bowlingball.com bad customer service
« on: January 02, 2009, 09:46:00 AM »
I purchased a Up-Rising on 11-26 received it on dec. 5th and multiple e-mails later they have yet to make thing right by me. O.K. the problem when ordering the ball I asked for 2"-3" pin, 3-4oz top and 15lbs 2oz-15lbs 5oz over all weight. I ended up with 2"3" pin 2 1/2oz top and a ball weight of 15lbs 8oz yes that is correct 15 1/2lbs. their only response to this was that they promise to meet top weight within 1/2oz and over all weight within 3oz that is why they sent me 15lbs 8oz. this is the exact wording to their response. I then sent them another message
saying so you stuck me with a ball 15 1/2lbs because you could also I turned thing around on them because they say on their web sight 15lbs 7oz - 15lbs 10oz is consider medium weight and is stated as such. So currently on jan. 2nd I am out the money but no new ball and no response from them since dec. 11th.

Bottom line is they made good on what they promise on their site. Within +- 3 oz gross weight. The customer requested a ball up to 15lb 5 oz and they sent him one with in 3 oz tolerance. I did not say 2 oz balance hole only. You could easily pick up 1-2 oz on the fingers and 1 oz on the balance hole. So even without a balance hole, the ball is at most 2oz heavier then requested. .8% of the ball. Somebody buys a ball online to save a few bucks then the get crazy over 1-2oz without even taking the time to have it weighed. I could have been 15lb 5oz like he wanted the entire time. Box labels aren't always perfect.

John811 did you read my post word for word, I gave a 3oz window for one and for two the web sight states 15lbs 7oz + would be 15 medium and stated as such. Oh and yes my pro shop weighed it it was actually slightly over 15lbs 8oz closer to 15lbs 9oz. so with the two points I mentioned above how do you defend this, and I'm not getting worked up I just want what I paid and asked for whats wrong with that.

You just move on. Things like this happen a lot. How is a bowling ball worth this much time and effort? Yeah it sucks it was a bit heavier then you wanted but it is something that I think MOST bowlers would deal with. I know I have wanted equipment in at the specs you wanted and I have recieved a little heavier. I just had it drilled up and did not worry about it.

I read everthing in the thread and their website says:

Requested ball specs will be shipped if they are within a given range of:
Pin: +/- 1/2"

Top Weight: +/- 1/2 oz.
Gross Weight: +/- 3 oz.

so basically you said 5 oz was perfect and they sent 8 oz which is +/- 3 oz of requested. I just can't believe the 5/16 of a lb is great but 8/16 of a lb is WAY too heavy. If had been 6 oz would that be ok? I don't give a hoot about bowlingball.com it just makes me laugh when somebody is so critical about 1 or 2 oz yet they try to save themselves $ by buying the ball online and it is not EXACTLY what they wanted, yet the seller still made good on what their site promises. A ball that weighs 245 oz is perfect, yet one that weighs 248 oz is terrible. 3 whole oz which 1 or 2 could be simply removed when drilled.
