How is BowlingBall.com?
« on: January 10, 2006, 10:13:50 AM »
I'm looking to buy a new ball (RotoGrip SS-SE ) , and want to know if BowlingBall.com is a reliable place to purchase from.  It looks like they ship the specs you want,  plus/minus a 1/2 inch or ounce, and won't ship without contacting you first if they can't meet your requested specs.  Anyone done ball business with them?

Sue : What is trying feminism?
Ali G: You know try a bit of feminism and when they is sober wake up in the morning and get back with their boyfriend?

I have bought at least 70 balls from keith spears on auctions and he even sends me exact spec requests on them. Out of over 70 balls only 2 have ever been shorter or longer pins than requested.

Not too happy with them right now.

Purchased a ball and some equipment from them last year and couldn't been happier.

Bought another Ball the other week and asked for specific pin and top weight that were pretty basic specs.  I clearly stated to them that if they don't have them, contact me before shipping.

A few days later, the ball shows up and it did not have the Pin I wanted.  I immediately sent a letter to the website through the contact form and waited a week...no response.  Sent it again a few days ago...no response.

Based on this...I probably won't do business with them anymore unless they answer me.  Plenty of other online stores that will help me out.

If you don't mind getting ripped on the shipping. I use to get things from them a couple of years ago.

Won a auction the last ball I got from them (15 lb ball), at check out I asked for 2-3 pin & 2-3 tw. Got the ball it was a Ebonite ball in a Brunswick box.

Called up about the tw pin and was told go to your pro shop and have them check it.

Went to the shop the ball ended up being 14 lb.  6 oz. , pin was 4 1/2", and the tw was 1/2 oz.

Called back to  bowling ball.com and was told that what I won, and they sent what they had.

Left a negative comment at e bay and they blocked me from bidding ( which I am glad of now).

They also use more then  the seller name of "bowlingball.com" on e bay as sellers, I think another name they use is bowlmart.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANY ONE TO USE THEM  ON E BAY !!!!!!!!
