Buddies Customer Service A+ (Shop called)
« on: September 07, 2005, 09:57:56 AM »
Hi everyone,

After hearing about buddies here on BR 4 years ago, I finally gave them a try.

Yesterday I placed an order for a friend of mine. We placed an order for a Circle Athletics single ball bag for his wife as well. There wasn't a color option to pick so we were willing to accept any one they had available.

Well today, I received a voice message on my phone from Bill at Buddies apologizing that there wasn't a color option. I quickly called back and picked out a color. Boy, they went out of their way just for the color of a bag. Thanks for all the help Bill and when the balls, shoes & bag comes in, I'll let ya know....

Regards, Ramtart

Their service gets more unbelievable every time I place one.

I placed a minor trivial order to day at 3 PM. By 7 PM, a few moments ago, I got an email that they had already shipped it! Don't they have families and a life? I would have been happy if they shipped it by Monday!

I don't care where the item is drop shipped froma as long as I get what I ordered.

I've ordered balls, shoes, and bags from buddies with A+ customer service every time.  Its not just the convienence of getting a tracking number and email confirmation after your order has been shipped, nor is it that you can actually call a phone number and talk to some one, nor is it that they have have great prices and one of the largest selections online.

Good customer service is not ALWAYS the standard these days, but Buddies makes ordering online easy and seccure with great customer service.

Go ahead and comapare prices. There are a few items that are cheaper at the other websites, but that's what great about shopping online.

take this one for example storm trifecta:
Buddies 127.50 with shipping 137.96
Bowling.com 139.99(free shipping)
blockbuster bowling 128.95 with shipping 145.90

looks like buddies is cheaper.  SPECTACTULAR!

Also, enough of this unjustified praise about receiving a tracking number within 4 hours or I ordered a ball and in 3 days I received it.

Aren't you SUPPOSE to receive the ball or whatever you ordered?

Most items are drop shipped from a distributor like Bowlmaster, NOT from Buddies and your order is forwarded for shipping by SOMEONE else.

C'mon now. Jealousy will get you nowhere.

You can count on the fingers of one hand the number of catalog and internet places that will get you the selection of products you want TO YOUR HOUSE THE NEXT DAY!

Mine did not come from another wharehouse in New Hampshire or Timbuktu. I ordered 2 finger inserts, 2 ball cups, a small container of polish and a bevel knife. It came directly from Buddies in Connecticut.

You can dismiss the praise for Buddies all you want, for all the good it will do you. Don't deal with them; no one is forcing you. OR maybe you think Buddies is paying us to shill for them. No way to disprove that.

I have dealt with many places over the years via catalogs before they had 800 numbers and before the internet, with 800 numbers and with the internet. Few compare with the amount of time and effort AND courtesy that Buddies people put into EVERY deal.

Have to agree. When I ordered from Buddies a few months ago, I ordered 2 balls. They did not have the specs I wanted on the 2nd ball and thus they called and asked if a substitue was ok or not. I only order from Buddies 1-2 times per year, so I am not making their rent payments for them. However, my own distributor for my pro shop, just last week, sent me only 1 ball instead of the 2 I ordered. It was coming from their 2nd warehouse in Texas...nobody called to say, hey we only have 1...I had to call when my order arrived and saw there was only 1 ball and they said, oh yea, we only had one of them...and I spend THOUSANDS of dollars with them every year.

While this is and what should happen, sometimes it does not. When it does, I appreciate the extra effort as sometimes not only does that add an intangible to the transaction, when you interact with people, they have a tendency to open u more when you show you WANT to do this....in my day job-financial advisor- when we have a client, we always ask, is there someone you may now who could benefit/be interested in hearing what service I provide....if they give us a few names and numbers, we call them up and say hey, so and so thought...., and MANY times the conversation leads to future business.

I ordered from two shops(neither one was Buddies) last Wednesday 8/31/05.  Items were in stock and haven't received either one.  Due to receive one on Monday the 12th.  Never received any information on other item.  Buddies didn't carry either item, but I might substitute in the future to stay with Buddies.
