Title: New Online Proshop
Post by: Scott Scriver on September 25, 2005, 02:37:37 AM
Hey guys --

Just wanted to let you know that we have finally launched our own online proshop.  I didn't realize how much work was involved in doing something like this.  I definately have a better respect for the other online proshops out there.

Anyhow, our new site is at http://www.mwysshop.com

We offer FREE shipping anywhere in the continental US.  Therefore, you don't need to worry about inflated shipping prices.

Take a look when/if you get a chance.  Let me know about ease of use, price comparison, etc.  We may not be able to beat everyone else's price, but I think we are fairly competitive with most when you factor in the free shipping.

Like all other proshops, we are constantly adding new product.

If you are looking for something that we do not have, let me know at scott@nabso.com and I will get back to you within 24 hours as to whether or not I can get it for you.

Thanks for your time!

With the rise in gas rates, shipping costs are going up as well. Yes, shipping is factored into the prices of the products.  Anyone who offers free shipping does that.

However, we are looking into one to two more distribution centers to help cover east, mid and west. By doing that, we will be able to actually DECREASE our costs of shipping and pass the savings onto the consumer.

Thanks for the feedback

I for one Scott think it takes a lots of sack for you to come on here after you sold the site to someone who doesn't give a rats arse about the people using it and then try to promote yet another business venture you have chosen to undertake.

You told us you didn't have enough time for Ballreviews anymore and now here you are saying you have launched an on line pro shop....

Thanks for nothing.

Wow...interesting comment, Doug.  It doesn't surprise me that a "competitor" would bash me like that on a public forum.  It does, however, surprise me that it comes from someone I respect(ed).

By the way -- I sent you a PM

Trust me...I am as frustrated as well.  I THOUGHT I sold this site to someone who would take care if it.  I was being offered more $$$$ for it from someone else, but decided to sell this site to the current owners THINKING they would take care of it.

Regardless, people cannot possibly blame me for the demise of this site.  I HAVEN'T OWNED IT IN ALMOST 3 YEARS.

What gets me is that I have been promoting all of my other sites on here, and no-one INCLUDING Doug took issue.  Now that I have a online proshop -- different story.

If you want to blame someone for the demise of this site, blame the current owners....it's not hard to figure out who owns it...they own all the online proshops that are advertised on the left.

I am no competitor Scott...I sell one brand online and that's all...Lane 1. Why? Buddiesproshop has made it so that nobody else out there can be competitive. So why should I bother?

In terms of Lane 1 it's hardly worth my while there either. People around here have seen it fit to undercut and price gouge to the point that the available profit just barely covers the packing material and gas to get to the shipping depot.

Have no fear Scott, I'll not be taking any of your potential customers. My local business is so small that discounts from suppliers are very slim and I cannot come close to any of the Internet pricing. Sure I could decide to have my suppliers drop ship for me and then just pocket the shipping fee as my profit, as many online shops do,  but I don't do business that way.

Furthermore my current job is such that it makes it VERY difficult for me to do online business.

I, along witih many others on this site, am just a little upset withthe fact that you told us you basically didn't have time for BR anymore and now you post this. I'm sorry but it has touched a serious nerve with me.

I sold BallReviews almost 3 years ago.  A lot has happened over the past 3 years including the fact that as of Aug 21, 2005, this bowling stuff is my only source of income (my choice).  When I had BR, I had VT, LS, BR AND a full time job on top of that.  BR was the site that consumed over 90% of my time....BABYSITTING it.  I think everyone knows what I mean by that, since obviously the current babysitter is sleeping .

Do I have time NOW to run something like this?  Probably.  However, when my administrative duties became nothing more than BABYSITTING, it was no longer fun -- whether it brought income or not.

Anyhow, I apologize if you felt my post was offensive.

Some may certainly wonder, but I'm not one of them.  I'm surprised the current owners haven't gutted the entire site and started over from scratch with more strict guidelines for membership and so forth. I guess they feel it's not worth the time and effort involved.

Unfortunately in this world you'll never please everyone, and there are always a few rotten apples that ruin it for everyone else.  In bowling it's the whiner's and sandbaggers.  On here it's people like low watt here and Wickedesque members.

Over the years more than a few online shops have come and gone.  Best of luck to you Scott.

Well I'll take care of the argument here.  I'll beat all the website pro shops in prices and I might actually open up my own soon.

But what about your customer service?  You don't exactly have the best track record around here.

Ike,

I have seen your prices.  They are DAMN good!  I wish you the best of luck.  There is a lot of work involved.

actually the customer service is really good, J Mac, there was 1 problem that he had a baby, and for most people family does come first.  But  that is over.  If I remember correctly, there was a problem with about 3 people getting their purchases later than expected out of all the deals that I have completed on here.

Thanks Scott, I as well, wish the same to you.
