Hi All,
Jim Callahan was nice enough to send me his two new releases for testing...i received them yesterday and punched them up tonight before league...
Pictures can be seen here
http://s536.photobucket.com/albums/ff328/videoballreviews/AZO%20Balls/Let me say, i am impressed with these two pieces...
First the Pure Tactics...Went with a 4.25 x 4.25MB with a 2.5" pin buffer...
Hybrid coverstocks and me dont always get along, but this one does...the core and cover seem to match perfectly here...good length with controllable angle on the backend, great for a house shot as it sat in the oil when i tugged one in and came hard off the dry if i leaked one out...
This ball reminds me of a secret agent with a stronger backend motion...this ball never failed to turn the corner for me, even when i got a little fast...couldn't ask for more! I can see this ball getting along with all styles of bowlers, very release and user friendly
Now onto the Ultra Radical Pro Pearl...i went with a 4 x 2 layout with a hole down in the thumb quadrant
This ball complemented the Pure Tactics nicely, rather than move in when the heads started to go near the end of the second game, i switched right to this ball...after coming in with a light mixing strike i bumped a few boards right and was able to hold the pocket the rest of the night while others were still going high...with the high RG and pearl cover, you should have no problem getting this ball down the lane, BUT it was very consistent in the backend...NO surprises like alot of pearls!
This ball reminds me of a combination of the Rapid Fire Pearl and a Street Rod Pearl...it allowed me to open up the lane, but wasn't quite as jumpy in the back as my Rapid Fire Pearl, more controllable like the Street Rod Pearl...
I ended up shooting 717 tonight 235-248-234...this is a good night for me as i have been in a bit of a funk lately, these two have definitely earned a spot in the bag so far...
Videos to follow when i can schedule some lane time!
Thanks for reading!
