Official Petition for MOTIV forum
« on: September 21, 2009, 04:04:50 AM »
It is fast becoming very appropriate for MOTIV to have a place to centralize threads.  As a dominant force in the "other" forum, I petition to create a MOTIV section.

Not only will this allow discussion to be in one easy to find place, it will also allow the videos of the gear I'll be posting over the coming weeks to be centralized.  It is my belief that MOTIV will continue to exponentially grow, as well as solidify itself as a top manufacturer.

Please give the brand the respect is deserves in the creation of a "MOTIV" equipment section.

Regards,
Justin

It is very unfortunate you don't consider staffers opinions to be valid and unbiased.

Justin,

How can staffers be considered NOT biased, when they are paid, if only in equipment, to make that line of balls sound good? And that goes for staffers of any brand.

Now if you know the bowler personally, you can vouch for his integrity, BUT who knows if, even the fact that he is being paid makes him subconsciously feel like he has to make any ball seem better than it actually acted for him. It's human nature.

By the way, although I am the owner of only one Motiv ball, an SX-1, I do think the line is big enough, good enough, and has enough users to warrant its own forum.

Hopefully over time the validity of one's opinions can gain more clout, if proven worthy, regardless of staff position.  High opinions don't always have to be bought.

I think there are those that are just out there to sell balls for the sake of sales, and then those that are committed to forwarding their brand by using it to help people become more successful.

Always true, Justin.

Among the ones here, on br.com, that I never knew before, but now after reading so many of their reviews and talking to one of them, one to one a few times, RSalas of Brunswick and riggs of Storm, I feel I can trust exactly waht they say all the time, regarding balls. While I don't think he is a staffer (but probably should be), I feel I can alway strust what Pat Patterson has to say about Lanemaster balls.

IMO the SX1 is the earliest rolling. So you won't get me to agree that it's the longest unless you put a high gloss polish over a very smooth underneath grit AND drill the guts out of it....and that was not the intention of Motiv when the ball came out to make it a drier lane ball. Lane conditioner stands up on top of the cover on both the SX1 and TX1 which now make them the drier and smoothest lane balls. It's the cover that made them with this factor IMO. One user of an SX1 that I know uses his on Shark as an underneath ball to go to.

Scott. The SX1 is is very good ball for the shark.I used the SX1 sanded
to 500 abralon,the pin above the fingers 5 1/2" x 4".And a X-hole on my PAP.
During the weeks before getting the TR2 I averaged 217 with the SX1 on
the shark pattern.I mostly used the same surface on the SX1 at the USBC  QUEENS
and averaged about 210 for 21 games.I believe the key with the SX1 is the cover,
because putting polish over a 2000-4000 surface allows me great length
and a smooth arc on drying surfaces. This is a very good ball.

I don't disagree Angela.  I do disagree that the SX1 was designed as a dry lane ball...it is not IMO.

+1 on the Motiv forum. It's time for more Motiv.

A general cleanup of the defunct brands and addition of the new ones would be nice too. I mean, Banger?...  Seriously?

I bowl a lot of tournament and having a pro shop and working in a bowling center, I'm always looking at what others are using! I know the guys that bowl and know their abilities and have seen several guys use Motiv bowling balls. I've been impressed so far to what I've seen and the guys were using several different Motiv balls. I have used Techline products in my shop for years and they make a quality product. By the way, Dyno-Thane hasn't been discontinued, but it's products are Internation releases only and not for the USA!
