My work buddie just got back from Germany,..says these are taking over Europe, and are coming to the US in '06.  I don't think they hold very many bowling balls,..www.smart.com/

I saw those when i was there! they are really cool, I understand that they are a division of BMW. anyway they are really cool and your bowling balls would have to be your passenger to take many i am affraid. they are tiny cars but they are really gas effective and save a TON of space. Comparable to an enclosed motor cycle. I wish my scanner was working i would put some picts up to show you how small they are in comparison to other vehicals its amazing

I can't stand those small cars including those MINI Coopers.  I don't think they are safe.  They look like a clown car and cost way too much for what you get.  Not to mention that there's not much to protect you from an accident.  A large truck, SUV, or tractor trailor would tear that thing all to pieces.

Just my opinion which I am entitled to have.

they are nice in the cities of Europe. the streets are small and they fit, it works out. That was what they were designed for and there are no big trucks to run em over there so its ok. I really don't think you will see them in the US, and if they do make it, they will have to be bigger than what I saw.

BTW i think you are right.. Mercedes is the owner, not BMW. I never get that kinda stuff strait

Think of them as really big motorized bowling bags.  Sort of like golf carts.

With BMW doing all of the engineering on it, I'd be willing to bet the mini cooper is probably safer than most cars on the road.

Just my opinion

You never know, look how many Michelle crams into her Miata.

I've got a little Plymouth laser, Donkey roller, 10 balls and accesory case fit.  Can put even more in if I leave the old lady at home.
