New Legends/LaneMasters releases up on website
« on: January 26, 2006, 12:12:51 AM »
The new LaneMasters ball, The Big Bang, and the Legends ball, World Class, are up on each site.  Looking at the lane diagram, it appears that the World Class will be an arrow weaker than the Big Kahuna and the Big Bang will be an arrow stronger than the AP2.

The World Class uses a new particle coverstock, World Class particle. Looks like the World Class could be used as a drop down from the BK?  Any staff members out there try these yet?

JS--Interesting.  You do have to wonder why the webmaster loads two new balls but the link to the Legends University only re-directs you to Legends home page.  Priorities.

JS,

I see the chart on the left shows more hook, the same skid, amd less skid/flip than the big kahuna. I suspect it will be a step up, not down from the BK.

charlest,

I see what you're saying with the World Class having a higher "Hook Power" and more arc than the BK but I was looking at the lane diagrams where the World Class is playing to the outside of the third arrow and the BK is playing to the outside of the fourth arrow (that's where I got the arrow weaker part).

I guess I'll have to get a World Class and see for myself

I find for the most part Legends/LM lane reaction charts basically worthless.  I'd rather go by BTM's numbers.  You guys gave me more info. than I could gather from any of their info.

I spoke with Galen at LaneMasters today about the new releases.  As usual, charlest was right  Galen said the World Class is above the BK and will go a little longer and have a much bigger backend.  He said it is stronger than the AP2 also.  Galen said it is an all new core (much bigger than the Satisfax core) and particle formula and said it hits harder than anything they have ever produced.  It should be available in the middle of Feb.  They are waiting for USBC to give their approvals.  The Big Bang will be their biggest backend ball.  Although the website says Super Carbon he said it was tweaked and not the same as the cover on the Kong.  He said you will be able to keep moving left and follow the pattern and the ball will continue to make it back and carry the corners.  Don't know if I'll have a use for this one but you never know

I ordered a Masterpiece today so I'll let you know how that fits in with everything.
