Hi everyone,
I got a chance to talk to Mark Russo last night and he gave me some info on the "Second Coming", the second ball from his InSite ball company. He is in the process of getting USBC approval, which he said should take about a week. After that he will have the initial order put in and the balls should be ready by the third week of August. I put my name on the waiting list last night!
He showed me one of the prototype balls last night -- it is a pearlized reactive shell with a medium RG core of his own design. The ball will be more of a skid/flip ball than the Almighty (he described it as a ball that will go long and then have a huge hook at the backend). It is dark gold color with dark blue swirls. It will have white logos (they were missing from the prototype ball). Unfortunately I did not see it perform on the lanes, but from his description it should be a nice compliment to the Almighty. The ball is being made by Visionary for those who are wondering. Mark encountered some problems with Storm (they were very slow to return his calls and tried to alter his core design) so he decided to use Visionary to manufacture this ball instead.
He is currently working on a heavy oil ball to be released in the December timeframe. He described it as a heavy load particle cover that will hook through the heaviest oil.
Mark's number is (410) 239-0991 - drop him a line to get on the waiting list or get more details about the specifications on the ball.
You can also PM me with questions, which I will relay to Mark for an answer.
Thanks,
Paul
