Hey Guys RELAX! Here is the real poop. I will address each of you separately. Always remember, when in doubt, you can contact USBC with your questions.
First, CHARLEST, Mr. Gentry, our sales manager told you correctly. We do use DIAMOND PARTICLES. And obviously they must be small. Think about it, what would big diamonds do to a lane surface. Our small diamond particles do no harm to a lane surface or they would not pass USBC tests for hardness.
Second, SAMMY THE SAGE, we lie about nothing. Our team of ball designers and testers are the best in the world. Their reputations are on the line and we would do nothing to take away from their professionalism. Fred Borden,Palmer Fallgren, Jeri Edwards, Ron Hatfield, Ken Yokobosky and myself are all USBC Certified Gold Coaches and our great amateur champions Billy Hoffman, Gery Verbruggen & Arturo Quintero, and our professional champions Ann Marie Duggan, Betty Morris, Dede Davidson & Larry Laub all represent our equipment in some way. The Bottom line is the balls have diamond particles in their urethane and that is a fact. Want more friction? Want a ball to last longer because the particles do not wear smooth after a few games? Then use diamonds, THEY DO NOT WEAR SMOOTH AND WILL GIVE YOU YEARS OF SERVICE.
And, ENCINO LEFTY, relax, don't be suspicious, just enjoy bowling with the finest made bowling balls in the world. It is natural to be suspicious of anything new, however the diamonds are for real. USBC requires proof of everything put in ball when it is submitted for approval. We would not want to or be able to make claims that were not true. I understand your concerns, but for once, a ball company is telling you the truth!
