Bowling Ball Search.
« on: December 19, 2005, 01:11:40 PM »
Does anyone know of a bowling ball out there that is a light-particle and is shiny.  This ball must have the core in the center of the ball and that core has to be aggressive.  With this ball it also has to be for oily lane conditions.  The person whom is interested in this likes to play up 5 or 10 boards and hit the 1-3 pocket.  He doesn't like to swing the ball out to the 5 or 10 boards.

There are several light-load, shiny particle balls.  The new Ambush from Brunswick, the Hexplosion from Track, the Xception 5.0 (compound finish, which is kinda shiny).  The Big Time Pearl, the Depth Charge, the new Enriched Uranium.  I think the slightly discontinued Raging Inferno fits the bill as well, as does the Impulse Zone.

Sorry, but no shiny balls are for oil.
Maybe yo uneed to explain a little more what you mean by "oil".

Please explain this is more detail. All cores are "in the center of the ball".

Too much depends on the bowler's delivery and release and the "oil" he is playing.

Ebonite XXcel is a strong, solid shiny light load particle, but it does not work well on a true flood.
Brunswick just launched the BVP Ambush, it is a polished pearl particle with a medium RG. Could be an option, too.
There is also Brunswick's Impulse Zone, also a light load particle but solid and with an asymmetrical core like the XXcel.

I have a Track Freak that fits the description exactly. While the shot described is not my favorite by any means, I played the shot w/ the Freak a couple years ago in a state tournament. I was the only "tweener" that carried (and I carried everything), and I won the tournnament. Couldn't get it too wide as it wouldn't recover all the way to the pocket, but was deadly when I made a good shot and had a little area both in and out.
