« on: May 11, 2007, 07:02:33 AM »
Hey everyone,

Mark Russo is putting the Prophecy on sale for $80 (shipping included) on May 13th only. If you have been wanting something to work when the lanes get ugly, this is the ball for you! Check it out here http://www.insitebowlingproducts.com/prophecy.html

Paul,

We keep seeing sales on this ball. I expect it's an excellent control ball, but the problem is really, as I see it, that
1, we don't see much discussion about it here, and
2, we don't see any reviews of it in the reviews section.

To be encouraged to even try a ball, people need to see much positive use of it and many positive comments about the ball's hitting power and versatility.

charlest,

Thank you for the feedback.  I appreciate your candid comments and I definitely understand the fact that I am a population of one on this site when it comes to InSite in general and specifically the Prophecy.  I feel like I am fighting an up hill battle, but Rome was not built in a day so I will keep giving my feedback when appropriate and keep hoping that the brand will take hold.

InSite is a very small company and does not have the resources to market the balls other than me getting on websites like this to try and generate some interest.  We have tried to give incentives to those who buy the InSite balls to write reviews, but as you observed very few (ok, none) have done so.  If you or anyone else has suggestions about what to try, please send me your feedback or respond to this post.  I am open to suggestions and comments.

Thanks in advance.

Make me a ball tester and i will give you a 100 percent unbiased opinion, i have owned over 1200 balls total the last 7 years. I have around 300 bowling balls right now and never will say it is great unless it is, so take me up on your challenge and pm for my address.

Paul,

I was tempted myself a few times to try it, but I am not a tester and already have several balls drilled that I need to try initially. Plus now I'm looking for a job. The wife doesn't mind my drilling 20% as many balls as mrbowlingnut, but I do need to pay for them. (odd point of view wives have. )

FYI I would have definitely gone for this one except for that "money"  thing. This is darned cheap and from the BJI review I read, a ball worth trying.

Other than more "publicity" from non-paid users, I don't have anything else I can think of, at the moment.

Keep fighting the good fight.

Hey mrbowlingnut,

Thank you for your offer.  I have talked to Mark Russo in the past about putting together a ball tester program, but unfortunately he does not have the resources to support a tester program.  I agree that it would be a great way to get some different opinions and unbiased points of view and possibly generate more interest in the balls, but he did not go for it.  I will talk with him one more time and see what he thinks and get back to you.

charlest,

Thanks again for the good feedback.  It is funny that there seems to be an "almost bought it" following of InSite products here.  Your story is similar to many others on this site.  I have received many pm's asking about the different InSite balls over the last few years and most seem very interested in buying a ball but do not make a purchase.  I feel we are close, but not quite there...but keep fighting I will!

I am sorry to hear about your job situation, I know how it is when the wife scrutinizes your purchases (mine does too).

Paul,

I may be interested in making product videos for InSite.

I already have made 2 videos for Brunswick with the Original Inferno and the Danger Zone.

I'd like to think that I represent the average bowler, and can provide a good baseline on ball reaction for the majority of people.

If you're interested in retaining my services to create product videos for your company, please feel free to PM me, I can send you samples of the work I've done.

Excellent price!

Can I "order" the ball on the 13th and pay for it on the 15th?

$80 shipped?  I've paid that for used balls.  This is a good deal if the ball fits your game and for that price might be worth it to find out.

I'm hoping I remember to order one on the 13th.  I am an average bowler with a lot of other balls to compare it against.  I also have about 3-4 others that I bowl with on a regular occasion that have spans/holes very similar to mine so we can get multiple opinions on it.

Okay, so I'm in for one!

Really wanted to order this when it was $90, but forgot and then the price kept going up.

Glad I waited!

Can't say that I really "need" this, but it looks interesting and I'm all for helping out a new company.

I want to thank everyone for their interest in InSite and for making yesterday's sale a success.  I talked to Mark and he is still not convinced that he can afford to start a ball tester program but hopes that some of you who purchased a ball this weekend would be nice enough to write a review.  Thanks again for the interest and much success to each of you!!

Are there drilling instructions for the Prophecy?

There weren't any in the box - also didn't get the 3-4" pin that I requested, but I did get a nice 2" pin.

Since any pin below my fingers will clip my thumb, how should I lay it out?

It doesn't look like a symmetrical, but I don't see a marked mass bias.
