Quick rolling ball options?
« on: June 10, 2015, 10:26:26 AM »
Wondering what are the current options available for balls that start rolling very quickly off the hand?

Old balls that come to mind that do this are the Danger Zone, some of the Infernos, and the Virtual Gravity.

Looking for balls that are still in production or just discontinued.

I have a Lane #1 Difference and it pretty much rolls at my feet. It's the earliest rolling ball I have ever thrown. It's WAY over priced unless you can get a good deal on one though.

Agreed, milo. Mine hooks at the arrows, literally, and never does anything past 35 feet. I have altered the surface, placed a balance hole, as well as change my release. Nothing different. I've only tried it on ths though. So maybe a pattern with more volume will yield a different result.

Most of the very strong asymmetrical cored balls, like the Roto-Grip Hyper Cell, can be drilled to roll VERY early.

Brunswick Mastermind, Motiv Jackal, DV8 Thug (series), RAdical Guru (series) fall into this category.

All these balls as well as the Difference mentioned previously are SUPER early rolling. On today's oil, the Danger Zone and the Virtual Gravity are anything but early rolling.

Maybe it would be better if you specify what balls you are using why you think yo need an earlier rolling ball. You might not need as strong a ball as you think you do. Often these super strong balls roll out early on house patterns providing very little power or utility.

If you want early rolling, get one of the new urethane balls and add some surface. If you want reactive, Ebonite's Code of Honor is early. I would slightly disagree with the Mastermind - the ones I've seen are pretty clean through the front part of the lane, at least on it's intended oil condition. On a house shot it would probably be pretty early.
