Help anyone?
« on: May 06, 2009, 09:40:00 AM »
Rebuilding arsenal, looking for a good benchmark ball. Looked at 2nd Dimension/Hy-Road but need some other opinions.
No companies known for early ball death, please. I'm a teenager with not much expendable cash.

may wanna look into Visionary they don't die and they have some of the best stuff out their, Roto, Strom, and Ebonite might get the hype but VBP knocks down just as well if not better

Hy-Road in my opinion would be a perfect ball.  Not to expensive, very versatile, adaptable to cover changes, & can be thrown on a variety of conditions with the proper line & releases.  Don't let anyone kid you, Storm is not over "hype"d.  They & Roto have won the most tournaments for a reason & the majority were the Cell line & the Hy-Road.  Good luck!!

I'm leaning toward the Hy-Road. Haven't owned a hybrid yet, wanna see how versatile it really is.

Haven't heard of their balls dying fast or seen any cases of it. The people around me use them forever with success, you don't have to get pushy. I was asking for opinions so i could research the other companies you all suggested and I like the Hybrid coverstock of the Hy-Road. It all came down to research, then personal preference of versatility.

And Big B is actually known for their longlasting coverstocks. I owned an Ambush and its still going strong for the kid i gave it to after more than 500 games, no resurfaces.

Ebonite/Hammer are the main one's I've heard of "ball death".  Haven't heard that from Storm either. Nice choice of the Hy-Road.  I'm wanting one now, LoL.

As far as stuff dying goes as long as you stay from Ebonite you should be okay.
