Hey Strapper,
Merry Christmas to you, this is a great present for yourself!!
I found on the typical house shot if you have any kind of hand, you will probably want to put some polish on it. Without polish, the ball started up too early for my taste. With polish, it gets down the lane and then flips hard to the pocket. If you bowl on a medium to heavy shot, you will be able to leave it dull. I would advise you to try it dull before doing anything with the cover.
I left my ball at 1500 grit and polished it. The cover takes polish very well and I am very happy with the carry I get. This is one of the few balls that I can use on inside or outside shots, it is very versatile. In the video I made of the ball (
http://insitebowlingproducts.com/videos.shtml), I threw shots from the first, second, third, and fourth arrows.
Good luck and let me know how you like the ball!
