I've had the Solaris for about 2 weeks now and thought I would give everyone my initial impressions about it.
Pin was above my ring finger and CG slightly out with weight hole (bought it practically new from tekneek). One thing I try to look for in a ball is one that's capable of playing multiple angles on different conditions and still be consistent. So far, the Solaris has done it and some. This ball is better to use when the lanes starts to open up and if you need some extra length. On longer oil it's very squirty but after about 4-6 games I was able to finally use it and play down and in about the 12 board. It responds very quickly off the dry and it almost has the characteristics of a skid/flip reaction. Carry is just awesome once it hits the pocket.
On THS this ball shows alot of potentials and I can play it inside about the 15-18 board to nearly the 3 board at breakpoint and it'll still find it's way to the pocket with authority. It's quite amazing since I'm not the type that throws it that close to the gutter. On light oil and very dry lanes, not a good idea to use this ball unless you got alot of speed or find some oil around the 5 board.
I would say with the light polish it's almost as long as my Power Machine but a tad earlier and quicker response off the dry. I think I'm going to like this ball alot so I'll try it out some more (maybe even on a tournament pattern) until my overall review in a few weeks.
