I have both, unfortunately they are not drilled the same.  But for info
purposes, my Bounty is drilled 4" pin to pap, MB 6" from pap, pin up, x-hole 2"
down val.  The MB is under the thumb.  I was hoping this drilling would
get the ball down the lane then make a nice move to the pocket.  But with my
release,  the Bounty made a strong/smooth roll to the pocket.  I took it to
2000 abralon and added Snake Oil, and now it gets the legnth I was looking
for, with the pop on the backend.

The Solaris Requiem is drilled 4 3/4" pin to pap with the CG 4 1/2" to pap,
x-hole 2" down val, pin up. In its OOB condition, the Requiem had decent legnth,
strong midlane read and continuous on the backend.  I dont see alot of oil
so I took it down to 360 abralon, hit it lightly with a 500 abralon, than
hit it lightly with a 4000.  The Requiem was still a very strong ball after
this, but it had the length I was looking for.  Alot of legnth and very strong
angular move on the backend.

I would say, though, that if both were drilled the same, they would both handle
the same amount of oil, but with different angles to the pocket.  They both are
great pieces.  I love my Requiem too, and it does turn alot of heads when I
throw it.

On a side note...I would say that when I put the Requiem to 4000 Abralon, it had
the same reaction shape as my Rogue Cell(drilled identical).  But was a bit
stronger.

I agree with Gunny & DrRev...my Requiem has a completely different look than a similarly drilled Bounty.  It would likely handle a tad bit more oil if both are OOB.    Requiem has more continuation whereas my Bounty did not.

Gunny...what's the theory behind taking the cover down to 360, then 500/4000 vs say applying 4000 to the OOB finish?

The Requiem is a very very strong solid reactive. I had mine 1000 grit sanpaper with a healthy dosing of Snake oil for the Scorpion pattern, it made it look like a light oil pattern, couldn't even uase it it hooked so much, noone at my center had as much turn as the Requiem.

It is 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 pin up and it is a monster.

Thanks Steve

On my home THS, I struggled to keep the ball consistently in the pocket.  I do like the angle compared to the Bounty.  So yes, it's time to play with the cover a bit.  I was going to simply take it up to 2000 Abralon from OOB.  Though I may try Gunny's process and see how it works on my fresh THS.

Scott, I did it at first as a test to the way Roto Grip says they put the
Rogue Cell's surface, and to kind of compare it with the Rogue.  The Requiem,
as I stated had a better midlane than the Rogue, but close to backend reaction.
So, I got rid of the Rogue in favor of the Requiem.  The way RG says to do it
worked just like they said it would.  I thought it was kind of odd way to do it,
but nevertheless, I tried it to see/record results for future reference.

I agree...I took my Requiem up to 2k Abralon and it's still a monster.  This ball definitely needs some oil to perform.

Scraps,

You are correct, the Requiem needs oil to be at its best.

We designed the Requiem for heavy and longer patterns, so you should try to save it for these.  While the requiem can be used on more medium conditions, it will not be in its element... on these conditions you would be best using the original Solaris or the new Epicenter!

Cheers
Ryan
