Artic Sniper? Probably the weakest urethane on the market.

Would you suggest the rebel tank or the Arctic sniper for both spares and dry conditions?

Depends on rev rate. I'm 475, so I use the artic. My Rebel is about 3-4 more boards overall. They both have the same cover, just different cores or rather a lack of one in the Artic.

The Storm Mix Pearl is probably, 1/2 step less than the Artic, if that makes any difference.
It's quite good looking:

if that's a factor.

The Black and the new Purple Pearl Hammer are options to double as a spare ball and a shorter pattern ball. Though I do like the Mix better for primary spare shooting due to better durability over plastic.

I third the Mix.  :)

I use it as my spare ball, and it's the closest I've seen in reaction to plastic. The best thing is that the dang thing doesn't crack. I was tired of repairing and/or replacing my plastic balls every year.

I would agree the Mix is a little weaker than the Arctic Sniper.  But you won't see much difference between the two for spare shooting unless you are high rev.  I like the looks of the Arctic Sniper better than the Mixes, but that is me.  Plus I like having one company, but not everyone cares about that.

Downside to the Arctic Sniper is it will be around $25 more than the Mix.  Buddies has the new colors $23 less:

Arctic Sniper - $92.95

Mix (new colors - green/white) - $69.95

Mix (old colors - black/white (there are others plus a solid urethane version)) - $67.95

Any suggestions on urethane for spare ball and dry conditions? I throw mostly motiv, but am open to any company.

The question in response is how much hand do you have (rev dominant/balanced/speed dominant) and how versatile does the ball need to be?

If it's truly to do double duty and you don't have a high rev rate, you may want to get one that hooks more (Pitch Black, Pitch Blue, Black Hammer, Rebel Tank).  If your rev rate is higher or you are really only using it for spares with that one or two times a year you're using it cause you've got nothing else, the Arctic Sniper and Mix are better choices.

Blue Hammer but just for spares. I would not recommend the Blue Hammer as a 1st ball even on dry conditions. I got tired of leaving a 7 pin or a 10 pin on a good hit. This is my experience; other bowlers here have had better carry with urethane.

Well I wouldn't say I have a ton of hand. I'm rev and speed matched and have about a 325 rev rate. I'm probably gonna look at the mix because on spares I roll over my thumb hole.

All urethane is more durable than plastic. So don't limit yourself to just the mix of durability is your main concern.
