The "thicker shell strikes more" concept being touted by LM.  Pretty much not true, but they gotta say something to get you to try their stuff.  LM only uses symmetrical cores too....guess asymmetrical cores don't strike??  Is it possible that Track, Storm, Ebonite...etc are all wrong and LM is the only ones that are right?  These balls will prove to be great matchups for some and horrid for others.  No "magic" has been discovered here.  By the ball because you want to try it....not because you believe the hype.  Peace.

Guess it depends on you feel about symmetrical cored balls vs. asymmetrical.  My opinion I prefer symmetrical....easier for me to read and strike & carry as well as asymmetrical.  DT and Lane #1 & basic Visionary all work well for me.

I think the lesser handed player probably likes asymmetrical equipment might help in the pocket.  Just an off the wall thought.

Scott....thanks for the reply.  I would tend to agree with you on your points.  I just found it somewhat silly that LM is trying to convince people that a thicker shell and NOT a thicker core means more strikes and that asymmetrical cores don't carry.  Yes, the LM booth at the most recent trade show actually said that verbatim.  Perhaps someone should ask Danny Wiseman if HE believes asymmetrical cores (Ravage he used to win) carry.  LOL!  It would be one thing if LM said something like, "We feel our balls are more controlled due to their symmetrical cores"...that statement I would find more than reasonable.....but to say asymmetrical cores don't carry is just foolish.  Anyway, you get the basic jist of my argument.  Thx.

Mr. McLaughlin,

Unfortunately, bowling does not seem to warrant enough time and money for physicists to do true measurements of gyrations of Diamond cores and coefficients of resitutution as allowed by the ABC/WIBC/USBC, whatever. Maybe tests of the correct physical relations would show what has greater effect.

For whatever it's worth, both asymmetric cores with large mass bias differentials, AND plain symmetric cores with fillers with decent cores AND good thick solid coverstocks of good materials over plain cores have all deomonstrated a GREAT HITTING power.

Any knowledgeable bowler cannot honestly tout one over the other when all have been demonstarted to work well.

I have used Visionary balls, Track and Morich asymmetrical cores, and Legends (AKA Lanemaster's) newer balls with good effect. I cannot say one is any better than the other. AND I WOULD NOT SAY THAT (even if Lanemasters does).

Charles,

Thank you for emphasizing my point.  Statements like the ones made by LM should probably be held in reserve until there is some scientific evidence to prove their claim.  Much in the same case as Lane#1(no bashing is occurring here)of their claim on the Diamond core.  I don't doubt testing was done, but I have yet to locate those results listed for public knowledge.  My point is, if they(any manufacturer) is going to make a claim like that then there should be publically available data to support it.  Thx much for your input.
