I think what this young teen is doing is so great. However I remember the days when I was a youth bowler and requested to do the same thing as he is doing and was denied more than twenty times. It seems since a few youth bowlers came along that seemed to have some sort of in with the PBA officials, now everyone(meaning youth bowlers who meet the same requirements) can bowl in Regional's. I'm not saying its a bad or good thing but I would love to know exactly when the rules changed and who was the first non-adult that was allowed to bowl.

Not to take away from the kids accomplishment but if his ball speed is what it should be for a kid his size any pattern wouldn't play that tough. His only issue would be carry.

That's the same problem all of us have, but he doesn't have to worry about the pattern so that's one less concern.

It's impressive, but I've seen it done before. Here's hoping he has good parents who don't burn out his talent.

Go to a youth league, we put a sport pattern out for our teenage juniors and if this kid throws the same ball speed as other kids his size then he throws it slow enough that the ball reads the pattern better.

If you haven't seen this than it's basically the same thing as someone who hooks at their spares. When the person slows down incredibly to hook the entire lane at their spares the ball reads the pattern better and hooks more. It's all about matching surface and ball speed to the lanes.

Yes, obviously if that's the case why don't the other people in the tournament slow down, and all I can say is I don't know. The first thing I do in any tournament that has a pattern with volume is slow down and use more surface. After that it's only about carry and consistency.

It wasn't a flame, just a question.  My opinion is that the slower you throw it, the more it hooks, and the ball "sees" more of the pattern.  From what I've seem, it's the flame throwers that take the pattern out of play, for better or worse.  Hard and pretty straight, and just enough tilt or late hook will allow you to score and play almost any pattern very similar.  I haven't watched any youth leagues to see what you've seen, but the guys who hook the ball a lot at spares on sport shots seem have a pretty low conversion percentage.  Hit a little carry down and it skates by.  Hit some early friction and the ball is gone before it ever had a chance.  I do believe you on matching up.  Maybe some of your youths are speed dominant, so when they throw it slower, the ball actually has a chance to read the pattern as opposed to skating down the lane?

I hope it does, it's the reason I coach.

I didn't mean to knock his accomplishment, but being from Florida and the depth of talent we have here it's not all that uncommon for a kid to be talented at that young. It's still a great accomplishment, it's just not that suprising.

I bowled against Kamron in a tournament last weekend. It was me and him bowling to go on to the title match. I beat him 258-210  The kid is already a good bowler, but he is going to get much better.

Two of the best bowlers I've ever seen were ages 13 and 11, respectively, when I saw them. The 11-year-old bowls in the center I bowl in now, has more hand than all but a few of the top scratch bowlers and can repeat shots better than them, too. Once he learns more about equipment matchups, he's going to be hell on wheels. Shot 834 here a couple of weeks ago after league on a shot that was totally blown apart. He practices like a fiend, and most of the adults are hesitant to go straight-up against him because they know they'll probably get beaten.

This reminds me of the hatin' that went on when PBA finally saw the light and let the woman bowl.  All that matters is whether you can knock the pins down -- they don't know how old you are or what your plumbing is!

I haven't cashed in a regional in about 4 years, and coming off my worst season in a very long time....and yet, I still find this to be badass and mad congrats to him.  Some of you really need to get your heads out of your butts.

The kids are good. Hope they do well. If you go into bowling to be rich you picked the wrong sport.

If you want to make money on the side of your regular job bowling can be that route.
