Tour Trials Day 4 experience
« on: June 04, 2005, 05:39:10 AM »
So, Since I only live 15 minutes from Merrilville, IN, and do actually bowl a league at Stardust Bowl where the tour trials is at, I decided to go today since the last three days I've been working in the mornings. Here are some of the impressions that I saw of day 4:
The two BR's guys are doing okay...Ike was using the shock and awe and he was hitting them pretty good today overall. I saw Nick start tearing up the lanes with a Zone Classic before I had to leave, and I think that guy leaves more splits than anyone I've ever met wierd stuff too...but he picks them mostly up so it cant be that bad of a thing.  thank god for Fire Quantums I guess.

Note: I don't know if this is for sure but this is just heresay.
Roberto Silva the guy staffed by Storm and from Mexico is probably either going to drop out or be disqualified for using an illegal ball.  The ball, which he only used once is some kind of AMF Triumph, he said he used the ball at the Japan Cup with no problems but they might dq him for using it.  I saw the event happen 5 feet from me it was great.  Supposedly one of the track guys told a fellow bowler that yeah he was gonna be canned after today.  Too bad cause he was in the running for the top 10.

From what I saw today also, Brian Kretzer is making the Fired up look real good...even though he's having to play 40 to 1 or 2 with it, but he's climbing fast.  rudy Revs has bowled really well today had a 289 game today.  Bob Learn Jr. was also doing really well today.

Some funny moments:
Seeing Jim Pratt throw a gutter ball first ball ( I know not funny just like pros dont throw gutters)
Bob Learn Jr. making a moose face at a spare
Rudy revs doing the sumo dance to get a four pin down

Two guys that I do want to mention just because their styles are so awe inspiring..even though I only really want to throw the ball like one of them.
Osku the two hander WOW...seeing this guy fire a ball two handed at like 20 miles an hour faster than Eugene McCune is very awe inspiring..
The second guy is Ken Simard, this guy is so damn smooth you dont hear the ball hit the lane...most of the time when u have a guy that smooth they dont have that many revs...he does...his style is amazing...I don;t know why he isnt in the top 10.

If you guys have any questions message me.
Paul

Yeah, it was kinda funny seeing rudy revs do the sumo dance to get a 4 pin down...eugene would be in the top ten if not for him blowing so many single pin spares

I live about 70 miles away and will be there all day on Sunday. Really looking forward to it. Last year spent the last day there and it was amazing.

Go get em Nick!! I see where Ike withdrew from the tourny.. I wonder why? If I paid $1500 to bowl, I am going to get every last ball thats coming to me!! LOL.. Maybe he was hurt??

Regardless, good luck Nick. We will all be rooting for you..

Paul, while you were there after Pratt went X-9 in the 10th Del Ballard on the same pair and same lane right after Jim, went -/9.  I thought it was pretty interesting.

Yea, I withdrew cause of my finger.  It's been hurting so bad I can't believe I made it this far.

Yeah I was standing there when he did it...it was one of those totally odd things when I saw Del do that...I'll be there about 11pm today
