With every post I've read on how todays hook in a box balls are, and how easy the conditions are, why anyone would need to bowl with two hands.. Not saying I'd be better then them, just don't see the need for it with todays equipment..

From what I have heard, Justin had some type of surgery and he just got use to throwing 2-handed. He only uses his thumb on spares. Ive seen him bowl and he throws a pretty dam* good shot. If you know what the SSJBA is, he's the only person to ever throw 800 in that tourny.

Thanks for the backup Mike, its not sumthin i want to do but i started young and never stopped, and yes i have thrown the only 800 an 804 in SSJBA competetion. i just like watching them because i dont know about this but ive been told of all the big name two handed bowlers out there i look smoother to them, so i just wanted to see thanks

Why do we want to bowl with two hands? We do it simply because alot of us simply do not have the strength in out wrists to generate any revs. When you are a stroker type, you are very one dimentional. Even if the lanes are hooking alot, if a stroker has to move deeper in the lane, he has a hard time generating enough angle on the head pin to carry corner pins. The second hand being used as a wrist support helps with versatility to play a variety of depths and angles.

2 hands is fun showing off for the ladies

But on a real note, lol, i like throwing 2 hands and i've actually become quite good at it, even though i normally throw 3 fingered. For example, the other night i bowled, there was a noticable amount of carrydown, so i shot about 130's everygame cause i didn't have any good equipment. Next i wen 2 handed at it, and shot all 160's and a 170! haha! i'm good

Brian,
40 pins is 40 pins. Regardless of average, 170 is better than 130 anyday.

The most well-known 2-handed bowler in the world, Jason Belmonte of Australia, uses 2 hands because he started bowling at only 18-months old. he did not have the strength to carry the bowling ball so he needed both his hands. and from then on he continued bowling with 2 hands till now! and look at his power. i think he's arguably the most powerful player now. He's a Storm staffer too.
Just look at how the pins fly when his ball hits them. Especially the last strike on the first video from Henrik.
Oh yes, to see more of jason belmonte, you can find it here :
