Wonders never cease.

Congrats to him and Jaros both.  Stevie came close to defending....7 pins close.

Championship match was a Power Drive Sanded with pin under middle finger for Barnes, and Jaros was not throwing the Zr40. It was another .44 Mag Vendetta.

Yeah. You know, I had a guy in Jackson county. He had a little drum circle in his backyard. It turned into a drum circle four miles in diameter. You get a few hippies playing drums and next thing you know, you got yourself a colony.

Power Drive Sanded for Barnes from the last ball of the semis to the win. Vendetta Black Solid in the Finals for Jaros. The Zr is VERY silver and has yellow lettering.

I thought Jaros was throwing the Black Vendetta as well, but when I looked later in the match it was the 44.  He may have tossed the VB in the beginning, but he finished with the 44 Mag.  I thought Jaros bowled very well today, only really missing on 1 shot but he missed when he needed not to the most.  Barnes came back well and kept the pressure on the whole final.  Good show this week, even though everybody's favorite TJ lost right away.

You use the word "choke" too freely. I honestly think he just overthinks everything, give that man half of his tv appearances he already would have 20+ titles. Very creditable career already, and I'm extremely glad to see him win today!

Listen, I'm not one of the people that runs around labeling bowlers as "choke artists".  I just thought I'd beat all the rest of the people that do to the punch.  Note the

These guys are on TV for a reason and I don't feel that we can justify labeling them as a "choker" if we haven't walked a mile in their shoes.

Here is my opinion on Barnes, and the reason he makes it to the show so often but has had trouble finishing it out.  It all comes down to the "jack of all trade and master of none" bit.  During collegiate bowling, Team USA, etc the guy has learned so many shots and so many adjustments he can line up on most anything.  During tourney qualifiers and matchplay, there is lots of time to lose a line, tinker, find a new one and keep on scoring.

when it comes down to tv time, and his shot isn't there he has way to many things to pick from to make a good safe adjustment.  Did I throw it to fast, are the lanes transitioning, do I move left and hook it, move right and go straighter, do I change balls, which drilling, etc etc etc.  When it comes down to 1 match for all the marbles, he gets himself in trouble due mostly to his vast versitility.  Today was a great example of Barnes guessing right, and also getting cold at the perfect time.  The Monicelli match was locked up, and Barnes had time to find a new shot during the practice before Jaros match.  I knew he moved his feet some, but it took a few frames before I realized he switched to a different pinout.

Congrats to Chris Barnes! I am glad to see him win this one. I was hoping Ameletto win.

There are 2 balls Jaros could have been throwing in the final...

Vendetta Black or High Energy

At first I thought Vendetta Black but if it was it was very dirty/used/discolored, the 44 has white lettering as far as I know, seems to me that it was quite possibly a polished High Energy as it has the orange lettering and the green doesn't show thru really well (I know I have one).

Anyway it was a great match, would have been interesting to see how it would have played out if that stone 8 had fallen in the 5th for Jaros.

Barnes did use a Power Drive and Jaros used the 44 and the Vendetta Black assuming that Vendetta means the original black one.

Barnes threw an Action Packed until the fill ball of his first game. Then he switched over to the Power Drive and used it exclusively against Jaros.
