Don't Forget - WSOB Cheetah On ESPN Today
« on: December 01, 2013, 10:57:46 AM »
Just a reminder - since I am one who usually forgets - that the WSOB Cheetah is on ESPN today at 1pm EST.

It was actually a pretty good show today.  Gone is Lon McEachern and now Mike Jakubowski and Randy are doing the shows together again.  Not bad at all having 2 who know the sport commentate.

Randy Pederson is horrible in my opinion.  His illustrations about the blue oil, the flare rings, and the lane breakdown were horrible as well.  I was hoping for some more insight on those things for the casual viewer, but he failed miserably.

Also the camera angles for the whole telecast were bad too....There were so many shots that you didn't even see the ball hit the pins.  In my opinion the camera angle should always be behind the bowler and then the replay maybe at or behind the pins.  This has been happening for a while also....

I really liked the matches. Jakubowski is a better fit for the position, and Randy's still the same quirky lead. I enjoyed looking at the blue oil, too.
The camera was mostly good. Exciting matches. Classic Malott, Weber, and Bohn. Great telecast.

I thought it was a decent telecast. I actually restrained myself and didn't look up all of the winners ahead of time this year, so there was still an element of surprise in it for me. The blue oil was kind of neat, and I bet it was an eye-opener to any casual fans who happened to turn it on. There are a lot of people out there who have no idea that there is anything on the lane at all let alone a specific pattern that forces you to play in a certain area. As for the commentators, I can always take or leave Randy, but I think that Mike J. is a nice addition. As others have said, at least he knows bowling! I yearn for the old days where the Tour had live shows week in and week out throughout the season, but there's no way to turn back the clock and make that happen. It just costs too darn much to travel and set up week to week like they used to. As such, this is the product we've got, so we had better just make the best of it. For those who haven't had a chance to watch it yet, I don't know about a defined schedule, but the ESPN channels almost always replay it at least once during the week. I would check your listings on ESPN2 and some of the other offshoots to see if it will air again sometime this week. It's not uncommon.

I just did a quick check on TV Guide online version and do not see a repeat anywhere.  For the next two shows, they only list the shows as being on ESPN and ESPNHD on the next two Sundays, no repeats.  That may change but all I could find for now.
