The PBA alone in the U.S. as an actual tour on tv isn't far behind. Sponsors and money are not there. Prize funds and the number of events reflect the same. That will affect turnout to a degree.

I would like to see a successful revitalization of the sport, but it has not been done yet.

The Strike Ten organization is a joke and I would love to know how much has been spent on that during the past decade in which they produced nothing of substance.  If they were run like every other successful company the leadership would have been fired years ago but just like the dinosaurs that run the BPAA, I'm sure the good old boys will continue to line their pockets while the sport of bowling vanishes.

You see, you ask of a revitalization from those that took away multiple honor score rings and awards for a triplicate, and others I am sure.

hate to see it although not too suprised; look at the past year what the bpaa and usbc has done to the sport. taking away now the most relevent pba event, too taking away the reason alot of people sanction. with the way those who run our game are going i see bowling for the most part dying. the associations are hurting and next year i suspect to see even more bowlers drop there sanctioning and more each year after bowlers realize there isnt any reason to pay the extra 20+ a year if ya dont get anything for it.

I saw someone mention Kickstarter as an option...that really could work.  I've seen some pretty ridiculously successful kickstarters.

More money doesn't fix mismanagement. The problems are likely far deeper then any of us will ever know.

Amazing considering it isn't even half way info 2014.

The only way for things to get better is for the USBC and BPAA to fail.  Wonder when someone else will start up a new organization to start fresh.  The current organizations have proven to be incompetent.

When the PBA limits the field how can they survive.I just noticed the summer swing only allows a 120 bowlers.Thats why it pays nearly nothing.I dont understand why they are limiting the tournaments.Seems like most majors are open to 400 or more entries. You can't tell me that the way the usbc has made bowlers out everybody with these walled up house shots .That these guys averaging 220++++ would not go try and bowl some PBA events.I believe they would. Some may do ok and some not.I think the entries need to open up.Maybe Im wrong but if any other companies are run like the PBA people get fired.Changes are made.Only changes I see or for the worse.Glad Im not a touring pro I sure would be getting worried.I have been bowling 40 + years.Hate to see the game I loved go by the wayside ,But its going fast. The ship is sinking.Somebody better throw out a LIFERAFT and save it.

BPAA and Strike Ten management should be fired. Period. There is money out there to keep the Open going.  Why would you cancel for 2015 when that is over a year away?

And the US Open is back on, for 2015 - 2017.

This from Lucas Wiseman, via the Nationals live stream bonus coverage of Doug Kent and his teams.
