Mika got nervous, good break on number 11, number 12 he hit his mark but just didn't get the hand on it, you could see it as soon as he threw it. Not that I wouldn't be nervous haha.

Definitely Tom because his first ever t.v. telecast is THE TOC FOR 250,000 BUCKS... I would pass out by the 5th frame. That's some pressure.. So how do everyone like the show so far?

Mika sure looked great today. I was thinking I might hear some funny quotes if he had shot the 300 against Daugherty.
Mika: "I've never won a game by 200 pins before now."
Daugherty: "Mika and I averaged 200 in that game."
Alas, it was not to be.
By the way, does Mika's wife comb her hair with a fishbone or something? ... I'm just sayin'

Something like that would haunt me forever bowling like that on national TV.
Mika has been throwning that Mission Domination very well the last few weeks. Glad he won after a long drought (though he did win in Japan and Finland not too long ago).

It was great if it was on. College basketball seems to have won the battle in most markets.
I rank that as an EPIC FAIL on the part of the PBA.
They should have known better. (yea no football, watch our bowling......ohhhh F%^K we forgot about college basketball)

Daugherty deserved to bowl 100. U would think after the 5th frame and having 4 splits and 1 strike, he would change balls or something. i understand its a 1 game match but come on. That was just really hard to watch. At least Steve Jaros now doesnt have the lowest game on TV.

At this point in the year the only people watching college basketball are people with money on the game.
After today, is it wrong if the next time I bowl TD and he's bowling well and I bring a video camera to see if it spooks him?

Boy, you concourse ballreview members kill me. Daughtery wrecked the place, all week, playing in and wheeling it for 60+ games. Apparently its easy to stray from what got you there (rolls eyes). Im sure the concourse legends here at ballreviews are the same guys who refuse to move their feet left of 20 in league and complain how much the track hooks.

I think Randy said Tom bowled something like 72 games. Since he as a regional champion had to bowl the max games. Had to be embarrasing, but still not a bad check for a weeks work. With the way he bowled this week won't surprise me to see him on TV again. Mika also did exactly what he needed to do bowling someone on his first show. Jump on him quick and hard. If the lights and money didn 't make you tight, the way Mika got rolling certainly would have the muscles just a little tight.
The band was Bowling for Soup. They are actually a major band in their genre of music. Not my cup of tea, they are from Texas and have had a couple hits. Could not tell you what they even sing. What they performed was their new single. I am sure PBA got a few dollars to have them debute the song on the show and to promote the album coming out next month.
Roll with 900 Global.

"At this point in the year the only people watching college basketball are people with money on the game."
I mean in reference to the local affiliates broadcasting college basketball over bowling. Didn't see it listed on ABC website either. Checked the tv and it was college hoops all afternoon. Colleges paid for the air time in many areas and get it with their contracts through the networks. So many places weren't showing the great PBA hype.

I think you're all going to hear a new coined phrase going in all of your leagues.
Bowler A just bowled a 157 in his Monday night THS league.
"Well, at least I didn't pull a Daugherty."
"I still coulda beat Daugherty."
It will happen!

At least Mika shot 299, if his score was sub 200 this would have been a major embarrassment of a telecast for the PBA. Well if it had been on TV everywhere.
Be good, or be good at it.

I live dead in the middle of SEC land, and we had three games on today including an in-state battle between Alabama and Auburn. The PBA telecast ran in my market.
Even if some markets didn't have it, most did. I think we're making too much of that angle.

I rank that as an EPIC FAIL on the part of the PBA.
They should have known better. (yea no football, watch our bowling......ohhhh F%^K we forgot about college basketball)
You even said your self later that it was probably the local stations that decided what to air (basketball over the PBA). So how is that an epic fail for the PBA? Are you sure you looked at the entire schedule? In Mobile, we had two of one of the local networks. One showed the national programming that you saw advertised on TV, and the other showed more local programming.
I'd have to agree to an extent on the criticisms of Daugherty. I didn't count the boards or anything, but it never looked like he even bothered to move. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Whether or not that line/ball was money for him all week, maybe between the TV lights and the way the other bowlers broke the pair down, it wasn't right on that day. Move in and really rip on it, take some hand out and play a little closer to Mika, something. He certainly never got any luck by breaking down any splits, but he squashed the nose dead on many shots.
My last week of Cheetah for my PBA league I wasn't scoring well. I always throw up the ditch at this house and usually use the same ball. After several bad frames I moved in quite a bit even though that is usually a no-no (especially for someone with my rev rate at this house). Marginally better, so I moved back out with a different ball. Much better. Even though the original ball on the original line had been great the other 6-7 weeks of Cheetah here, it wasn't that day. Even if he was just trying to get out of Mika's way (in the 5th frame??), why not do something different? Throwing a strike or two, even if the were Brooklyn or something would have got him out of the way faster than throwing a split almost every frame.

I dont see how anyone could be ripping Tom D. Cmon like any of you guys have gone that far in a tourney that big.
He has won Regional Events whch says that he knows what he is doing, He knows more bowling than any of us do. Not only that but he MUST be effective throwing the ball the way he does, He would have to be more effective throwing it TWO FINGERED, than we are Three Fingered. I understand he didnt move, but that is probably because he was nervous, or thought he had it best shot from where he was standing. Like any of us have never benn stubborn in league and not moved our feet and shot a awful game, is was amplirifed because of the toughness of the pattern.

Daughtery had a bad game, but put his name in the history of bowling, someone who lost by only 199 and bowled the lowest game on TV
btw, i liked his attitude, made me laugh, which is always good
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment
When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

Nevermind the adjustments. He threw it really bad. Several shots the ball was set down on the foul line with little axis rotation. How many times did you see the ball get right of 12-13 at the breakpoint? 2 times and they were both strikes. IMO.....the number of games caught up to him. He bowled 70+ games to get there. Would have bet the long road to get there combined with pressure finally caught up. Just caught up at a bad time. Sure he will get there again.
