Just watched first match. I thought there was supposed to be an out of bounds with heavy oil out side?
NOT!

I watched Chris Johnson throw a ball (without a lot of revs; yes, I know he can throw a lot of revs but he wasn't today) that went oujt to about the 4 board and came up HIGH!

Out of bounds? my left nut!

230+ average for several bowlers. Ok, so I know they need good scores to "score' with the TV audience, but they could make them EARN their position by putting a somewhat tough shot during match play.

Oh, one more thing, while I'm in RANT mode.

Supposed Brian Voss bowled the most games at 26 to qualify.
26? C'mon already; give me a break. My ancient, aching bones, as well as Sawbones's body could bowl 26 games over 3-4 days and still be able to bowl a TV match or 2.

Does anyone remember the old All-Star torunaments where they bowled 100 games to QUALIFY??
Or even the old PBA long format tournements where people bowled 54 games in 4-5 days to qualify.

Hey guys and C_J, especially if you are the real C_J.

I was 100% positive C_J was an imposter. How I came to that conclusion is beyond me. A profile would have convinced me otherwise. My sincerest appology. It was a sensless comment. I don't know what else to say. I thought his post was from yet another clown on the forum and I thought I would mess with him a little bit. Sounds stupid now, but somehow it made sense at the time. I get sick of seeing all the garbage on the board then somehow I began to contribute to the problem.

I stood up and shook BV's hand after he threw the strike in the 11th frame. I told him great bowling and keep it up. I wanted him to strike out and put on a good show and strike out before I told him great bowling. I told him that and he told me that we will meet again on TV very soon for sure. Very professional guy to bowl against. He is a true competitor. CJ

Charlest â€“ I agree the number of games bowled for the week is low compared to old qualifying methods.

However some of the pain is that with the new format, he had to bowl 3 matches in one day and all went the full distance of 7 games. So he bowled 21 games in one day plus practice before the match. A pro should be up to this but it is still a lot of high pressure match play bowling in one day.

I still believe the old format (pre Microsoft boys days) was better for identifying who bowled the best that week but they went broke and this is what we have.

I remember going to watch my father bowling them... he called them "rabbit squads" because you bowl as much as or as quickly as rabbits *ahem* reproduce.

Some people think you are an imposter so I will ask you a question that will remove all doubt if you know the answer.
On Friday there was something that was affecting you when going up against Robert Smith.
What was it that was affecting you/making it difficult to bowl?

An imposter would not know the answer.

I just don't get naming the patterns. Why not Pattern A = BOHICA? (I'm sure most of you know the acronym). It makes as much sense, maybe more than B = Shark.

Thanks guys and gals. Trust me I do know how to use a spare ball to my advantage. If you were at the show you would have seen how they asked if we cared if we cut practice time down from 30 minutes to 15 minutes. That was a huge factor. I personally don't know why I would move right with my feet. I had a good shot but just didn't carry a few shots. No big deal, I'm in Cleveland now getting ready for this week. Have a good one all!!!!!

An imposter might not have caught that nor known that it happened before he bowled Robert Smith he would now though, and I was unaware of him stating it during the telecast because I was there and not watching it on TV.
