Anyone got a knife???
« on: December 10, 2006, 04:32:06 AM »
... because the tension between Peterson and Duke is THICK! I was laughing my @$$ off listening to those two stab at each other.

My favorite was when Bohn started throwing the Total after doing some ball changes, and Randy kept saying he should have stuck with the Absolute:

Duke - "No flat 7 with that ball... you were totally right Randy. Just like you always are."

I got that too. I thought they were tight "buddies"? Maybe Randy feels he's getting worked out of the announcers booth? Hmmmmm.

Could we be that lucky? I'm sorry but I don't like Randy. I got to see and hear him when I was in Trussville a few years ago when the tour was there. The man is a jerk.

I think both Peterson and Duke were very unecessarily hard on Danny Wiseman! Guess they didn't like it that he made the finals!

And I've read a LOT said by Duke supporters on here, but I have several friends who have crossed with him at tournaments and one and all say he's a prick!  They don't like him at all!  Many of his comments when announcing simply reinforce that impression to me!

I think we need some better, more neutral commentators! Someone who will promote the sport, the athletes, and bowling in general, without snide remarks towards the bowlers and themselves!

Too much EGO there now!

Norm's NOT a prick. He talked for minutes on end with a lot of us at the '04 Masters and I mean, total strangers. On TV yesterday he mentioned that he was kind of a jerk in his younger days, but he's not like that now. Norm is engaging and very friendly. Maybe he's competative on the lanes, but I can accept that.

Duke totally adds that interesting perspective to the show.  His comments actually make me want to listen whereas the other guys seem to be comic relief or there to say young guns every three seconds.

I happen to be from Dallas, and I have met Norm on numerous occasions. Aside from fiddling with his equipment more than I do, he's an awesome guy!

Rumor is that the reason Duke is in the booth is because Pederson has accepted a job working for a ball company. When Duke does not make the telecast he will be in the booth. I guess we will see if that is true or not coming up pretty soon here.
