former "professional amateurs"
« on: May 10, 2005, 01:41:31 PM »
i'm curious as to everyones opinion on pba players who used to be "professional amateurs". who's adapted the best ? who hasn't ? who was the most overrated now that they're not doing so well in the pba ? etc.

I would think the top of the class would have to be Chris Barnes and Patrick Healey

I would have to think the obvious "overrated" is Rudy Revs. He has not lived up to the hype.

i'm surprised no one mentioned mika as the player who's adapted the best----pba player of the year, has won the us open and the abc masters. rudy revs by far has struggled the most and was the most overrated. i don't think robert smith has really played up to his potential. chris barnes has done very well----and will continue to improve and dominate. patrick healey needs to be more consistent. i would rate tore torgerson i better player than either brian kretzer or tim mack.

So far. I think Tim Mack may still be working out some kinks in transitioning from international play to PBA play. He seems very adaptable, which many other have not been. I am surprised he is not in the current Tour Trials listing as of yet.
