Did anyone watch the final match between PBIII and Maza? i saw the most odd thing in the world. Maza's spare ball is drilled for his pinky and ring fingers rather than his middle and ring. It is the oddest thing, but it works because if you look at his spare ball going down the lane all he gets is forward roll and not much of it. Meaning that if his shot is accurate, he wont have to worry about any last minute movement. Very interesting idea....

if anyone looks at some tapes of Robert Smith from 2003 year, they'll see that he also had his spare ball drilled like that; for his ring and pinky finger.

I think I saw him using one with only one finger drilled. I remember watching one of the older shows (when the reruns first started) where they said taking one finger out can really give no ball reaction.

that TV format is the best yet!
-
Uh, why are we so worried about the corner pin spare? THAT WAS THE GREATEST FORMAT EVER!!!!!!
-
that type of format is actually preferred by most of the players---and probably by the fans as well.

if anyone watched the 1994 Senior Open yesterday, Gary Dickinson used only the middle finger and thumb on a Black Knight. However the first time I witnessed someone doing the ring finger and thumb was WRW. I can't remember as it's been so long, but I do recall hearing .... "thump... thump.... thump" as the ball went down the lane (i.e. thumb hole)

That was Ozio-WRW-Duke-Kent, I believe. It was a good show. Ozio was really on fire, nearly setting records.

If you haven tried it try it in practice sometime, i will sometimes do that when the lanes get REALY dry.
