A League of Ordinary Gentlemen
« on: August 18, 2005, 03:55:19 AM »
I wanted to share this article with everybody in the bowling world. It seems as though this guy sharing his opinion is not quite fond of the sport and does not believe "bowling" is a "sport" for that matter. I even e-mailed him and respectfully disagreed with him. Let us know on here how you feel...

"Hip thrusts?" What the h*** is that? Those are "crotch chops" you freaking idiot!!! LoL! And the quote about Walter Ray Williams Jr, "dominant, yet uninspiring?" Another bogus thought from this jackass! Walter Ray is one of a kind and I'm sure every bowler around the world would love to be able to mimic his flawless style, just MY OPINION! LoL

The WRW quote needs to be put in context...

Weber contends with Walter Ray Williams, a vanilla master of technique and finesse. He's the Pete Sampras of his sport, dominant yet uninspiring.

I'm not sure there is a real argument that can be posed about the quote.  Yes WRW achieves results, but it isn't the eye-grabbing technique that some of the others out there are putting on the table.  Simply put, he gets the job done...kinda like that tennis guy they compared him to.  Just as Sampras wasn't who the youth tennis players wanted to emulate, I doubt many aspire to emulate WRW's form.
