A New Sean Rash

And I have to say, I like what I see.

I just caught up on the WTBA finals, and it is good to see Rash more calm in his demeanor, and more focused. There were less outbursts than what we see from him, and less of those demons getting into his head. And there is absolutely no doubt what changed him; we saw that as he walked out during the introductions, and after his match.

Congratulations are definitely in order for him and Sara, as that baby is adorable. And to be honest, because of her giving him that new focus, we may have seen the last of the cocky, brazen Sean Rash that fueled the rivalry between him and Belmonte; we may have even seen the last of that, as now he has to be the example to his daughter.

But I also have to say that after seeing him walk out with her, I really feel for the Blanchards. It does hurt to see someone walk around with a newborn, when you've done all you could, and lose your baby. I've witnessed that firsthand.

Either way, I think we'll see a wiser, more fatherly Sean Rash in the future.

He didn't look too happy when Belmonte won the Player of the Year Award.  Walked off stage, and Weber looked confused.

Bingo, Wite. Excellent post. I was wondering how many others noticed that. There's a huge difference between putting your child on display for the world and stepping up to be a class act. Walking off stage like that is same old Rash, epic fail.

Someone else commented that he did walk off stage but to give Belmo The Stage. Shortly after that, he came back onto the stage area. Funny you don't mention that Rash shook hands with him and gave him the "manly" partial hug. What do you want? To see them wrestle on the floor, like high school children in the play ground??

Rash is not there to make friends.
He is there to make money, collect trophies and gather sponsorship, which he seems to being doing well. Period.

Exactly.  Why some people on here seem to find in necessary to judge a man that they have never met or talked to personally is beyond me.  Go buy the latest issue of People or US, for crissakes.

People judge positively without knowing the person, so why can't it go both ways.  As stated, rivalries = ratings.  I don't mind Sean's 'bad boy' attitude, but there is just something about him that rubs me the wrong way.

Congrats to him on his new child!  I didn't really want the entire show to be about that though.  I don't see the need to have him bring it out and have it be in the audience during the match. I think I would have had him holding her during an interview piece to show between frames.

I'm glad that some people have enough fortitude to get past the "it's all about me" and realize that while they are there to make money and pay the bills, they are there for eachother, regardless of whatever rivalries people want to see.

We never saw that with Ozio and Aulby, and it's a damn good thing we didn't; they had too much class for that, and they let their performance be the rivalry we wanted to see.. same with PDW and WRW.

I wasn't looking for anything.  That's all they showed on the TOC Telecast.  That's all I could go off of.

It reminded me when he "walked off" at the Japan Cup, before returning. It was his way of dealing with disappointment w/o making a scene, in his eyes.

"In his eyes."  In the viewers eyes? I'm guessing the majority of people would not be okay with him just walking away.
