Almost a real bracket tournament
« on: March 19, 2009, 02:56:13 PM »
This tournament is what I visualized years ago but no one liked my idea because you only had 2 bowlers on tv. In a true bracket tournament, why would you have 4 bowlers bowl each other on tv in a one game match? Your defeating the whole purpose of the tournament.

The flaw in this tournament though is going from a bracket best of 4/7 to a three game match only and having total pins, as if they decided to go to a Masters format all the sudden. Go to a best 4/7 format also for tv. The problems of this though is how to do it live which may not work. Your choices are you would have to get 2 hours of airtime if it goes 7 games and even then I don't know if it would be long enough. This and you would have to go to commercials while they are bowling. But what if it only goes 5 or even a clean sweep of one of the bowlers winning in 4 games? Then you would have to get Espn to fill in airtime as you can only do so many interviews. You can't predict it even if a bowler has a 3 game lead because the other bowler could possibly win 4 in a row.
