It's so funny that people hammer him on these boards...he's one of the nicer guys out there.  People just see how simplistic his game is and hate the fact that he's not hammering on it at 400+ rpms.

I will say that yesterday was one of the worst shows I have seen in a while.  It had absolutely no drama...all but the first match were pretty much over in the 6th frame....and the righties had created themselves a nightmare...where Scroggins had hold for days.

Scroggins is nicer than you know.  Little story ...

We had been "bowlers" for six months when we took a short trip to Amarillo.  We walked into Western Bowl and both Mike and Mark were in the pro shop.  They spent a lot of time talking to us as if we actually knew something about the sport.  They looked at our equipment and gave us some tips on how to get the next one drilled.  They didn't try to sell us a darned thing.  Both of them were patient and personable.

Mark had the West Texas A&M team practicing that night after the sport league.  He told us to come by if we wanted to try a sport condition.  When we showed up, he gave up a pair of lanes for his team practice and revised his session to a different part of his program so that we could have a pair of lanes.  I shot my first ever 200 that night, and he and his team made me feel like I had just shot a 300 on a sport condition.

Since that time, we've met and bowled with numerous pros, both active and former.  While most are nice, only one has come close to the Scroggins brothers, and he's now our coach.

By the way, "ugly" is no reason to hate.

Why am I not the least surprised by that?

It's too bad you don't hear more stuff like that (not just from the Scroggins', but by many of the pros as well)

I played in a fantasy football league with Mike this season.  After he won yesterday I shot him an email congratulating him on his win.  From my experience with him and by reading the other posters' stories here, he seems like a fine man and is obviously a tremendous bowler.

I don't see anything wrong with the comment about league bowler just go to leagues sometime and watch the bowlers the biggest majority of them are not accurate target wise or speed wise, I'm sure thats what his reference was to I bowl in a league doesn't bother me a bit. Oh and most important as far as bowling he has several titles how many do you have

I have no idea how he "just presents himself as an ars" What do you want from the guy?

And personally, I think the people who were offended by the league bowler comment are the ones that think that applies to them. In that case, he is right he DID throw it like one. Get over it.

As much as people like or dislike the guy, you have to respect his game. Nobody wins multiple title without being not just good, but great... Period.
