no longer an exempt player (stupid rule). will lead to the downfall of the PBA.

Same as Monacelli, same as Brian Voss, Same as many GREAT bowlers.
According to the PBA, they're not "what's happening now".

Not trying to start a "who's better than who" debate, but Rhino Page made it through many TQR's to make TV. I'm sure that everyone mentioned has just as much opportunity as Rhino...some have just moved onto another part of their life.

PS...wouldn't mind seeing Guppy Troup on TV one more time though...

If I recall didn't Amletto start to have a lot of hip problems. He was a pretty fit guy though. I remember seeing him in Alabama a few years ago. He was in great physical shape I thought.

C'mon....you CAN'T say that with all that success, that it was cause of the left side. He had a good year...that's that. He was top 5 in average on a few of the patterns if I remember correctly. Very good bowler. But there are plenty of righties that keep their spot year-after-year with no problem. If it was that easy to bowl PBA on the left side, then don't you think that the PBA would be predominantly lefties?!?

Didn't Sean Rash qualify a couple times through TQR's from the right side?

In fact.  Wasn't Rash the first to win through a TQR and the reason he became exempt?

Forget the left/right issue with Rhino, you can stop with this: If we packed the tour with everyone's favorites over the years, you would have a seniors/favorites tour and young guys would never get the chance to break through. There isn't enough room for them all and for better or worse, the exempt system is the way you separate the guys who are capable at that moment in time from the ones who aren't.

No one forced Voss or Monacelli to lose their exemptions. Monacelli's health took him away (happens to the best in all sports, eventually) and Voss didn't perform well enough (ditto). Simple as that.

If we're going to rap on the PBA for its exempt system, be prepared to curse golf because Jack Nicklaus isn't contending at Augusta or NASCAR because Richard Petty isn't still driving or baseball because Nolan Ryan is at home working on his dude ranch.

What bowling needs to fix this problem is a marketable senior tour, but no one has found a way to make it work financially on TV yet.

If we want to see who's capable now...do away with the exempt title and allow everyone who has the green to play. Plus, those animal patterns need to go since the so called best are looking right of 10 on 4 patterns out of 5. PBA should of worked on some new patterns and not the gimmicks they dropped this year like using different patterns on different lanes. AY-CARUMBA!

If you are going to open it up at least go back to the qualification that you have to be a member and cashed in two regionals or won a regional.

It is suppose to be the PROFESSIONAL bowlers tour not any hack that has the bucks to enter.
