Patrick Allen is looking very good for Player of the Year after placing second in two majors, leading the points, leading the money, and winning at least 2 titles - back to back, I might add.
Is anybody else really in the running at quite the same level as PA?

I don't think so as of right now. If he had won today, he would have sealed it for sure. Unless someone makes a big run down the stretch, I don't see anyone else taking it from him.

If Barnes wins another title he jumps right in the mix. PA is the leading contender right now.
-
Someone will have to win at least 1 or 2 titles and the TOC, and place extremely well on everything else to beat him.

Williams is alot closer than Duke. Cmon.

Hmm, that's right. But WRW still needs to get another win or two if he wants it.

I say 3 season wins takes it...no matter who it is....let the race begin!

Hate to Spoil you Pick but This one belongs to Chris Barnes.

Honestly I got a lot of balls. Not kidding.

Well, everyone is pretty much giving the POY to PA, but things could change quickly. If I'm recalling correctly, Barnes has made 3 shows (to my reccollection and won one (today's major). Now what if Barnes manages to win another tourny this season and what if it's another major. If he wins again this season...things are gonna get close...

You also have to remember what else Barnes leads, Chokes! With the win yesterday he broke an EIGHT match losing streak on TV. To me thats no POY! No a bash, I was glad to see him break that streak, just how can you say he's in the running with 1 win when PA has done so much more?

Barnes choking means very little. I mean he's made 3 shows and won one. If he wins another event I'd say him and PA are pretty even. What if he wins another major....are you still gonna deny him because he "chokes"?

don't they deduct points for being lefty though? We all know if he had to deal with dry heads and carry-down, it would be a different story...wink, wink...

PA still has my vote right now.
-
PA would get my vote today, but the season is not over. Chris Barnes or Danny Wiseman could win another major. There are many other good bowlers that could win two or three tournaments before the end of the season.

You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!
-
yeah... regardless, I would probably still have to vote for PA... he has just seemed to find a way to make it week in and week out... I think consistency over the long haul is the biggest factor... barnes is probably running close behind...
