But...what is up w/ Angelo's antics lately.....yes,...against Couch...I loved it! Can't stand Jason's big freakin' mouth.....but...what is up with the finger jamming in the air when you make a split......whatever.....great shots...SURE!!
great bowler.......absolutely!!
but....come on......give me a break.......

I didn't think anything of it .. thought it was the excitement .. they WERE GREAT SHOTS under pressure .. in fact GREAT SHOTS without pressure!

Remember they are being told to make a good show. Not only bowl but be a showman or slight actor. Some people can mix the two together others can't, Brad does it poorly. Super nice guy, great bowler definitely not acting material. I personally believe the same of Voss about 75% of the time. Its fun to watch passion for the game but the acting goes a little over the edge at times.
Sorry can't resist - The next time I hear "Thats what I'm talking about" I will throw up.
-
I agree about Voss, hes probably the King of doing that! especially when he throws both his arms in the air like a douche. what a toe. hes too old for that.
-
Mongo,
Great comment and I totally agree.. Dave Traber on TV is an embarassment to the PBA and hope I don't have to watch that ever again..

Some of you guys are something else. You're mad at a guy, in the heat of battle, picking up a difficult split and he celebrates doint it. What gives? Now, if you don't like Angelo, for the sake of not liking him, ok fine. But to get mad a someone because he's pumped up from bowling?!?
Let me guess, if you made that split in leauge, you would've just said, "That was a good shot..." and calmly sat down huh?
Oh yeah, I don't like Dave Traber myself, but last year, when he threw three strikes in the tenth frame to go into a roll off with Norm Duke, and he was pointing his finger at Norm like, "Yeah, what now Norm, RIGHT THERE!" I absolutely loved it!
Every sport has athletes that either get overly excited at one point and time when they compete, so why not bowling? Also, we need that in our sport, some passion, some added excitement...something, to promote our sport. Some don't think you can't get hyped about bowling. I hate that with a passion! Our sport is just as passionate and exciting as any other and it's about time we showed that. Listen people, we have better t.v. ratings than NHL hockey...HELLO!
--------------------
When you've moved up, moved back, adjusted left and right, cupped, flattened out, have thrown everyting in your arsenal, and the pins still don't cooperate, just say, "Aw to HELL with it!", and throw the ball!

Brusnwick lefty,
I did not call him an idiot because of the finger thing, I just don't like the guy. I have not personally met him, just like a alot of people on here have not met Chris Barnes, but he gets slammed on this forum all the time..
I guess calling him an idiot was a bit harsh and will edit that post, but I still don't like his attitude and will leave it at that..

finger up to the sky huh? I missed the show, and will catch a replay, is it kinda what pedro does after he's done pitching? Or what bonds does when he hits a home run? Never seen anyone bash these guys for it, but as i said, i haven't seen it so i might be wrong.

Ah man, finally someone understands that this is what we need for our game. I do not really like Traber, but the crap talking that he does is great, and makes the show better and more exciting. Sorry to all the old people, or the ones who want to never see bowling change and keep it where everyone is a great sportsman, and they sit down silently after a huge shot, but that is boring, and bowling is and definitely needs to evolve from that. quote:

Well I have met Barnes, and I cannot stand the guy, a total as*. I love to see him lose now cause of that.

Well Pedro and Bonds point their finger up to the sky to indicate a thanks to God as if He made them throw a strike out or hit a homerun.
Angelo just points a finger to the sky like a pump fist. He doesn't look up as if he's giving thanks.

Hey Leftyhi-trak
Thats what I'm talking about

But seriously, just let them be, as long as they can back it up, they can say whatever they want. Do I like their antics? Maybe not all the time, but it does give me cheap laugh sometimes.
It makes the show fun when players like Couch scearming and barking, while the 'silent' guy just shuts up and shoots a 6 baggers.
Thats what I'm talking about, whooooo hoooooooooooo

i can't believe no one has brought up pdw. i think the past couple times he had made the show he has been at the top of his game, and in my opinion there is nobody else i would like to see on television. the crazy antics are not for everyday either. if ur in league, and acting like that, chances are ur with ur friends, and its ok. travel league and juniors is what its all about. money on the line people. thats what its really all about. if i had a chance to bowl for a pba championship and a purse of 40,000, u better believe i'm gonna have to be on the top of my game. sometimes it throws me off, opponents tryin to get in my head. as long as you can back your bowling up, i say do whatever you like. but as for my best friend...when its time to bowl for the money, and i talk sh*t, my buddy says i don't need to play ur game, i'll let my bowling speak for me. tends to work half the time. i guess it all depends ya know. we are all different, and react differently as well. i don't care either way. as long as there is bowling, competitive or just fun, i'm there.

True the ratings for the PBA are higher than the NHL this year....because there IS NO NHL this year (unless something changed it the last 2 days and they finally agreed on something).

They were higher than hockey even when hockey was playing, I believe thats what he was talking about. Bowling had about a 4, hockey was at less than 2.
