Well, after more than a year of paying dues, I've finally signed up for my first regional event as a member of the regional tour. To be honest, my expectations are pretty low. I've never bowled on Scorpion, and I haven't been practicing nearly as much as I should be. Still, it will just be nice to finally get out on the lanes and kick off what I hope will be a long and eventually successful regional career.

Obviously, I expect Jeff Carter to be there. Jeff, thanks for the quick tutorial on online entries by the way. Is anyone else from here, amateur or pro, planning to come out and bowl? If so, let's make plans to at least meet up and say hello. I've truly enjoyed meeting several of the folks from this site, so I would love the opportunity to make that happen again in Joliet next weekend. Give a shout if you're going to head up there!

I will be there Gene, my wife and many others are doing a lot of work to promote the tournament as well as the charity.  Stop by and say hi Gene, my name is Paul Nicholas.

We have raised a lot of money and I hope to do the same this year.  Please come out and support the tournament as well as the charity.  We appreciate the generous donations from many bowlers of the midwest and central regions.

I'm put in a entry hopefully everything will go through.  I'm in between changing my grip and trying to figure out which balls to bring.  As of right now I'm a complete mess and time is running out.

Gene...I'll be up there to watch not to bowl. I never have bowled well in that house I think Oak Forest will be my first one. Since I only live about 15-20 minutes from there I'll go watch though.

Good Luck...Scott

It's great to see that some fellow ballreviewers will be out there.

Jeremy,

It will be nice to see another Hammerhead on the lanes. I'm certainly not a staffer or anything, but I have enough gear to possibly make someone think that I am. Well, maybe until they see me throw the ball : ) Oh yeah, and I'm not a lefty, so we should be all good there.

Paul,

I'm trying to remember whether or not you and I have ever actually been introduced. I want to say we have. I've bowled in a few regionals as a non-member. I worked at a couple when I was still working as a sports writer in Kankakee, and I am friends with Dale Christiensen, whom I'm pretty sure you know. Anyhow, I know you by face, so I'll definitely try to say a quick hello.

Rob & Scott,

It's nice to hear that you'll be coming up to watch. Again, maybe we'll see if we can figure out a time to meet up and shoot the bull for a few minutes sometime during the weekend.

I'm fairly easy to locate. I'm about 6'1" tall, 210lbs with a closely buzzed head, glasses, and a fairly obnoxious goatee. If that doesn't do the trick, just look for the guy with a very high backswing throwing mostly Hammer gear!

I look forward to seeing and hopefully talking with all of you next weekend. If anybody else is coming out, let us know.

PUP,

You still are good.
Funny how things have changed from back in the late 90's and early 00's.

Still wished we saw each other more often.

Funny thing is I don't fish.

LOL

Just a nickname I picked up years ago.

Kind of like Riggs calling me "Token Lefty".

PDW is going to be bowling so I know I will definatly will be there. I've never seen him bowl in person before. It's going to be fun watching PDW wreck Town and Country...and it's going to be fun watching some of the locals bowl against some of the best in the Midwest & Central Region.

I just want to wish good luck to all you guys that are bowling....

Gene
Jeremy
Rc Charger
Paul
Riggs
and Jeff Carter

My local pick to click is Wade Gayhart.

I know I'm kind of late to the party, but I'd like to congratulate my friend Rc Charger for manning up and giving it a go.  Rob, I promise you I'll give it a go with you next time.

Also props to Aaron Buss who finished 5th.  He's a real cool guy and a tremendous bowler.  I'm glad I know both Rob and Aaron...class acts and great people.
