Maybe ebonite didn't want to give him first-quality stuff yet, lol.

BTW, what were they throwing today?

You are calling it an X-out because it had a long pin to CG?  I've seen some of his old Ebonite stuff.  He uses pin placements way above his mid grip line.

Could be a special order ball just for him?? Seemed to roll the ball very well with that pin and gave him the great look that he wanted. I saw what you saw too and the pin was at least 3-4" above the fingers, ive only seen 2 other balls like this. 1 was a Storm Paradigm Passion and the other was a Ebonite The Big One (also used by Patrick Allen)

It said X-Out below the C.G.  PA uses that drill alot int he One series.  The pin is 5" above the midline and approximately 5" from the PAP.  The MB is placed 1 1/2 inches below the midline.  It gives a more forward motion out of the backend.  Tommy Jones uses this layout alot too with the stronger assymetricals.  It enables the PBA releases to be able to control these monsters off of the spot.  Us league bowlers need all the help we can get from the core, these guys can generate the motion we crave effortlessly.

Bunch of stuff that Patrick throws is an X-Out. I've seen him use X Out Ones, V2s, and now this Angular One.

As for what was being used, Couch used a Smash Time Pearl, Weber a Special Agent, and WRW an Awesome Revs.

Just so you guys are aware, there are alot of companies that give the staff players and tour players X outs/Blems/X Comp balls!! It is pretty common!

::cough::TRACK::cough::

I had a friend on their advisory staff and everything they sent him was a 2nd.  Mass Bias and C.G's 3 inches out of line.  0-1 inch pins with 4.5oz topweight.  I remember one Delta he had was almost undrillable.  It had a 4.9oz topweight and the pin-cg-mb relation had the C.G. about 3 inches right.  He ended up going with a stacked leverage type layout with the MB about 3 1/2 inches left of his thumb and a huge flare decreasing hole just to get it within legal specs.  Needless to say the ball rolled like garbage.  Much like the rest of the stuff he had.  A few months ago he quit their staff too and has been on fire ever since, throwing his older ebonite/hammers.

Wrong about the Smash Time Pearl. I believe strongly it was a polished up Smash Time because that ball had black in it and the Smash Time Pearl has blue not black

So you're saying that the PBA doesn't know what ball these guys are using on the show?

The regular Smash Time is much more black with some pink/red than the Pearl, which is more red, blue and silver. Thats why I stick with saying it was the Pearl.

Did it look like PA switched to a different AO about half way into the last game?
