Anyone Watch The 300 Game Marathon
« on: December 24, 2006, 02:46:50 PM »
Just wondered who watch the marathon on ESPN Classic today.  They showed every televised 300 show in its entirety.  Pretty interesting to see some bowlers who we no longer even hear about anymore.  I loved to see the equipment they were throwing.

Who needs a 300 or 800, when I have a 294 and a 295!?!?!

I enjoyed it also teach.  Love some of the older ones.  Seeing Dick Ritger, Jim Stefanich and others.  I thought one of the most interesting was later when they showed Kirk von Krueger bowling.  This guy http://pba.com/news/features.asp?ID=4440&Type=0

The guy you hear all the time on telecasts introducing the players at the start and other PBA stuff.  It was interesting watch him bowl.

If you ever get the chance to talk to Von Kruger in person you will have to kiss his ring. He thinks his shi- doesn't stink. I once asked him about something on the senior tour and his reply was, you will have to ask so and so,I am the tournament director. I asked a senior player I went to school with and he said straight out. Von Kruger is a ass-ho--.

I thought it was great.

We've all seen the last ball thrown for the famous 300's on TV, but it was really interesting to watch the whole match.

The one that impressed me the most was Bob Benoit's 300 against Mark Roth.  Not only did he make his detractors (who said he would fold under the pressure of bowling Roth) eat crow, but every one of those balls was high flush, ten-in-the-pit perfect.

I wasn't defending KvK.....just thought it interesting.  Never met the guy I form my own opinions.

Many don't like PDW but I have met him a few times and he's always been great to me.

Sometimes it's when you catch a person it seems and how you interact.

I didn't catch this event because I had to work. I really wanted to see the 300 shot by that guy who as I remember was sweating really bad....can't recall his name, just thought it was really funny. I saw that tape one night, then went to league a few minutes later and shot my first 300. I was just as nervous and sweaty....LoL

Anyone remember that guys name....it was several years old....thanks

I watched the 300 game marathon, it was great. I think Jim Stephenich had a Galaxie 300. They didn't show Steve Hoskins 300, shown today on espnclassic, it was the Ebonite Challenge of 94. Wayne Webb's style was similar to that of Carmen Salvino.

I agree with Henrik on Mika.

Also have a guy who bowls next to me nearly every week in league he uses a Udot!
He throws it great and it looks great on this slightly jumpy shot!  Sonic X solid is a little jumpy sometimes for me!

I note that very often he can pull a board or 2 and the Udot just holds!

Cool!

I think CK Moore's 300 was with the Omega/R.
