Title: Athletes who get arrested (including bowlers)

Why is it when athletes in any other sport get arrested, message boards are allowed to give opinions, media is allowed to cover it but when a Professional Bowler gets arrested it is not allowed to be talked about on message boards or covered by the bowling media?

This sport needs to act Professional if they want to be treated Professional!

A Professional Bowler gets arrested recently and it is like SHHH SHHH SHHH SHHH!!!

I just don't get it

I'm not a Professional Bowler.  All Pro athletes should be covered the same if they get arrested and bowling gets a free pass.

Why should Professional Bowlers be given an exception?

Why do we feel like we need to know somebody elses business? I don't care if Peyton Manning get arrested or if Danny Wiseman gets arrested. It is THEIR business and not mine.

I'm a little confused by your point/logic.  

If a professional bowler has been arrested, the news media will get a hold of the story, although it won't garner the attention of the high level sports (i.e. golf's John Daly).  

So, do you know of a professional bowler that has been arrested, or are you just trying to stir the pot for whatever reason (presumbly because you don't care for our sport, based on your moniker)?

The same reason the:

NFL
NBA
NHL
MLB

don't report arrests. They are not the media. The media reports the arrests. Since pro bowlers are off the radar of the regular sports media, they don't care.

Because pro bowlers are not worthy of the back pages or the tabloids. Norm Duke can get caught sodomizing babies and not one news reporter would bother to print it because 99% of the readers would say "who the f is Norm Duke".

Nobody would care.

Mean while if ARod has a date with a women who was tagged as 'easy' is high school, it's all over the news.

People can bring up “not being anyone’s business” all they want.  The truth of the matter is that fans and media will discuss anything pertaining to the “Elite” in any sport.

The truth is:    Everyone not “Elite” wants to know
The truth is:    An “Elite” person is in big trouble
The Truth is:   Some people just aren’t who you thought they were

If you want the big story out there, than contact some news services. Chide them for their disservice in not reporting on this. To tease it here is pointless, since the pros are slammed here all the time. Only a troll would not know this.

GOLF IS BETTER U seem to pick on bowlers what did they do to u? I could care what other people do. The reason other sports get notice is because they areon tv more than bowling did U ever think of that or did u get hit to many times by a golf ball. so U better whatch how u start rippin on bowling. The other sports make more than a pba bowler plus tthe other sports have agents and the players get payed millions. where as  pba does not get payed millions of dollars. so why not go play golf and stop harping on bowlers!!!!!

OK, GOLF IS BETTER... I'm a member of the bowling media, and would be more than happy to learn about what happened. Not saying I'd write anything -- there'd have to be a story to do that -- but how about you tell me who got arrested and for what? That's normally the first step... the media can't do anything if it doesn't know what happened... ya know?

I think the true facts should be stated or the thread should end. I agree that the insinuating is bad and many names have been thrown out there that have done nothing wrong.  And even a fictional web page was created... it was funny and sort of clever but could be misinterpreted.. especially if you are just doing a search on one of the people mentioned.  I made a joke too thinking it was about the real person based on the previous posts, but I think it is going to far now.

I agree with you--however, at least those that diss the world's best bowlers do so based on performances that we all can attest to--GOLF guy has submitted no proof whatsoever of his claim, just casting aspersions, and deserves no merit.
