I figured I wouldn't be the only one who took a double-take when the league bowler comment came out. I can't say that I was deeply hurt by it, but it was kind of in poor taste.
As for the "no one can beat that" remark, I thought that came after a shot that struck despite a poor release. I think he just meant, hey, if I'm going to find and blast the pocket on a poor shot, there's no way I'm going to lose. I know that I've mumbled similar things to myself during league. I don't think it was directed toward Norm. I think he just knew that he had too good a ball reaction to lose. Of course, I could be wrong.
In any case, kudos to Scroggins for winning his first major. You don't have to like what he said, but you do have to give him props for hanging on and winning the big one.
