Bad eggs at Masters

For scroggins at the end...some classless fans.

From "gutter", to "foul" these drunks were just tasteless!!!

I've hated watching Drunks at golfs Phoenix open try to yell right at the moment of impact in golf!

Thsi was takier!

He really looked great with both his ball reaction and how fast...and smooth,... and how he got strong clean revs....like every shot!

I was rooting for him until he made the remark,  I shot that like a league bowler....

Kind of a low blow or pompous remark in my opinion

I'm glad he got his win, shot great....BUT, his comment made me feel like he's better than a league bowler, not just score wise, but 'class wise'. That was a comment that might come back to bite him, later on.

Gotta give him his 'atta boy' for the win, but not sure that was a comment worth making on TV. JMO

Yep.....I agree here Pete!  That hacked me off too!!  And ...didn't he say after one of his strikes....RIGHT BEFORE HE OPENED...didn't he say .."no one can beat that?!"  what does THAT mean ?!

I look at him differently now........rubbed me the wrong way.

Great win, ...no doubt....but........

I doubt that he gained any fans this week, but on the other hand Duke may have.  That was an impressive showing of "sack" by changing balls and punching out to force Scroggy to mark.   Too bad the 7 didn't stand with the 6 in his 10th giving the win to Duke.  Then, Duke could have said, "I guess I can beat that".

Sorry, I didn't hear that LL.

About Scroggins comments.....what do most expect when they mic these guys?  I really doubt Mike S. actually meant much by either statement.  I think, he was coming down on himself for making a lousy release/shot.  

Most get to caught up in this stuff.  Results are Scroggins won.  Now if Duke had made the right ball choice to start Duke might have won.  

I'd like to hear what NFL, NBA, PGA players say if they were mic'ed.  Sheesh...........couldn't be aired as it's a family show.

He responded "No way Jose"...."I'm going straight down the middle".
Clearly some one said "gutter it".

Next he said...."Oh no...I'm throwin right from here" and he demonstrated the throw from 5 feet back of line!
Someone said "then foul".

Didn't have to hear either comment to KNOW what was said.  Right?

PS I didn't like league bowler comment either ....but he was just throwin it SOOO SOOOO good.  That is what he meant by "You can't beat that". The shot was NOT as easy as he made it look!  The other lefties showed that(ARt Brown thru the ball very well and could barely break 200!

I figured I wouldn't be the only one who took a double-take when the league bowler comment came out. I can't say that I was deeply hurt by it, but it was kind of in poor taste.

As for the "no one can beat that" remark, I thought that came after a shot that struck despite a poor release. I think he just meant, hey, if I'm going to find and blast the pocket on a poor shot, there's no way I'm going to lose. I know that I've mumbled similar things to myself during league. I don't think it was directed toward Norm. I think he just knew that he had too good a ball reaction to lose. Of course, I could be wrong.

In any case, kudos to Scroggins for winning his first major. You don't have to like what he said, but you do have to give him props for hanging on and winning the big one.

agreed when scroggins said that I lost a bit of respect for him.  I mean he only has one twice and yet he barely holds onto his card almost every time.  Now he gets a major win.  Which he did win I mean he deserved it.  

But I would like to know is when are they going to take the extra technology out of peterson's and ryans hands.  They were going nuts with that stromotion.  

And my favorit one.  Ryan saying that a unfamiliar format refering to the step ladder formate.  WHAT A JOKE.

It's unfamiliar because they dropped it before Dave Ryan started announcing.  Before Dave Ryan, bowling hardly existed at all.  It certainly wasn't worth watching.

The shot he said you can't beat that was after the loft shot and the "league bowler" comment.

It was so pure ...so clean so balanced with a ton of not easily seen revs....Like butter off the hand and a steamroller at the pins!

He knew at that point he almost couldn't be beat.

I still don't understand how you know what was said LL.  You weren't there and you couldn't hear it so you are jumping to conclusions.  All pros throw it down the middle when they need a few pins on the fill ball.  He was playing up to the crowd.  

BTW--Duke during qualifying almost tied Art Brown because he did the same thing on the fill ball needed 7 pins and threw it down the middle.  Almost left a 4,6,7,10.  10 fell out at the last second to win by 1 pin.

Agree with you Gene...all this stuff Mike is accused of is more like he was putting himself down NOT the other way around.  

Congratulate the guy and let it go.....he won. He and Rick Lawerence aren't the prettiest bowlers out there but they've made a lot of shows the past year or so.

Page 2 of the "Shame on You Mike Scroggins" thread in the PBA Tiour Discussion section.  I wasn't paying attention to what he said at the time, but it was not a well thrown shot, and it did look like a lot like a lot of stuff you see in leagues.  Even if I had of heard it, it would not have bothered me at all.

Man...I love the way Scroggins throws!  He generates a ton of speed for a 4 step delivery and when he throws it right it looks real good.

He could easily go inside if he wanted to with a little less speed!

Why would he say ....

"I'm going to throw back here...(5 feet from foul line) while looking up into the crowd and clearly responding to them.

Someone said..."We love pancakes"?
