Ball Position on Angelo
« on: January 24, 2005, 01:47:38 AM »
Did you see where Randy was showing the two different starting positions on Brad Angleo? He said when he needed the ball to go longer he would hold the ball higher. That’s fine for a person who doesn’t do that small semi-stop step. He drops his ball to the same spot during that step. The movement of the ball has also stopped. So in reality he is starting the takeaway from that position not the higher position when he first stands on the lanes.

Anyone notice this?

Yes I did. And it also appeared later in the broadcast that he lowered the ball starting position.

As much as he muscles the ball up on the back swing I don’t really think it would matter where he started. But it may just be a reminder to him to lengthen his back swing to throw harder.
