richard wolfe question.......

just wondering if richard wolfe has signed with a ball company yet. i know when we saw him last on tour i think he was a storm staffer, i'm wondering if he may sign with them again, or maybe stay independent? with the way the lanes have been the last couple of years, he may just be able to give pa and scroggins a run for the best lefty on tour! the guy has what i call effortless revs off his hand, and besides couch, he might be the best at opening up the left side. any thoughts?

Its not the physical game which kills him!! He and Rick Steelsmith are pretty much the cream of the "never quite made it" crop. Both great games but just don't quite get over the hump. Like both very much as they are very nice and personable.

absolutely great physical game.  smooth and effortless. if i was going to teach a lefty how to bowl that would be what i want them to look like.  problem being is that he lacks that killer mentality that you need in head to head matches.  he just is unable to stick the dagger in the heart.

yeah i have to agree with yoder here, he just doesn't look intense enough to me! if you took his physical talents, paired it with pdw attitude, you would have a beast! i'm pulling for wolfie this year! i hope he's bk for good, cause it sure is fun to watch him chunk the rock.

Richie is a very nice guy, with a fantastic game. At the 2004 St.Louis PBA event at Brunswick Lakeside, the first win for Rick Lawrence. I talked to Richie because he was with AMF300, at the time and he was following Lawrence because he was also throwing AMF300, first week for the Maximum Velocity. But Richie was very very helpful and talkative, plus I was fortunate enough to watch him practice.WOW!!!! What a great game. I hope he has a great year

yeah i am still wondering what he wil lbe throwing. i wouldnt b suprised to see him throw the big b, i was hoping storm would sign him again, seeing that they don't have an exempt lefty on staff.

I'd honestly say richie is one of the best looking lefties i have seen. effortless. im pretty sure ill have a solid form just like that soon.

Is he still bowling out of AMF in Annandale?  I heard he was working out of the pro shop, or something like that?  That was a while ago, so I don't know if that is still accurate???

Does he have much loft over the line?  I don't remember...or does he seem to just get it down...softly right on foul line?

Also...it seems he is not quite as good in match play as in qualifying.

Rich doesn't loft the ball at all.  He sets it down softly just over the foul line.  Not sure about the match play vs. qualifying thing, though.  He's a great guy.  I've known him for years.  I'm really happy he got back out on tour. It'd be awesome if he broke through and got a win.
